A new map...finally! After far too long, I'm happy to get the first maps of Level 8 out. As you can tell, things are moving much slower for me these days with a new baby at home (he's doing well!) so I apologize to all my patrons for the delays if you are waiting for new DOTMM maps. I don't want to make any promises for the future schedule, but I am starting to find a routine that fits some work time in, so I hope to have more maps coming out in the new year (hopefully the second part of Lvl 8 later this month and then December may be a little quiet - happy holidays!!)
The Slitherswamp - Level 8. What fun! The Dungeon of the Mad Mage is providing lots of variety - forest, dungeons, castles, and now - a swamp. These flooded, damp chambers were a unique challenge.
Map Notes. Nothing too crazy to note. Most water is shallow - a couple feet (as per descriptions - and I added in the occasional non-flooded area (although still make it difficult, muddy terrain!). Deep areas of water are darker and I tried to use a few of the same kelp plants (area 24 for example) to show where other deep areas were. If using the background versions of the maps you'll notice the water tiles stick out beyond the edge a little - this has been a challenge to work with in any water maps as I end up with shallow water showing at the edge if I don't extend it - however, the transparent versions are nicely clipped.
This release spans Maps A & B - with Maps C & D coming soon. The full layout is shown below - some weird splits given the layout and the large area 19 more or less in the middle of the map:

Files. I have included both Background "_BG_" and Transparent "_TP_" versions of each of the maps listed above; background means it has a flat grey(ish green) image behind the dungeon, transparent means there is nothing there. For the Roll20 versions, this means the background version is a jpg while the transparent version is a png (jpgs don't support transparency); Foundry are both dd2vtt files. IF you want to puzzle piece the sections together like above (NOT RECOMMENDED), you have the transparent versions available for that. However, if you set up each map to an individual scene, you could use either, but the _BG_ jpgs will meet the file size limits for Roll20 (TP pngs may not!).
The zip files below have the Level 8 Maps A and B, as well as a GM overlay for each map. Roll20Free is a .jpg < 5MB, Roll20Paid is a .jpg < 10MB, while Foundry formats are dd2vtt files. Roll20 maps are at 70 and 140 px per grid cell respectively and the Foundry files are 100px (this also holds true for the transparent images).
