Kolat Towers - Waterdeep Dragon Heist [28x38] (All Tiers)

Appearing abandoned to passers-by, the towers contain mysteries to be unraveled...

Winter - we made it!

This map was a monster with 6 levels (+ roofs) across 4 seasons.  The map itself in the source book had some peculiarities to reconcile and the grid and sizing was a bit of a challenge.  Across all of this I've done my best to reproduce it as closely as possible to the book.

One of the big things to note is the force field around the outside - the book notes it as invisible but I wanted to add an effect to match the key art instead of hiding it - it also allows for a cleaner transition from snow to grass (as the book notes no fog, rain, snow, etc passes through the barrier. If you want the field to be a surprise, I'd suggest keeping the map hidden until someone tries to walk in (or jump a wall/dig under/etc).  

Other mapping notes are that the grid is rotated slightly clockwise from the source to make it easier to play in a VTT - grids in the source itself are all over the place in both size and orientation so there was a lot of eyeballing and estimating to make this map.  Features wise everything should match nicely with the book though!  

I've also included .png files for the invisible stairs (both up and down) so you can keep those hidden until your players discover them.

Files.  You will find the zip files attached below for all 6 levels (+roof), both day and night, in Roll20 Free, Roll20 Paid and Foundry VTT formats.  Roll20Free is a .jpg < 5MB, Roll20Paid is a .jpg < 10MB, while Foundry formats are dd2vtt files. Roll20 maps are at 70 and 140 px per grid cell respectively and the Foundry files are 100px.  There is also a DM overlay (transparent PNG image keyed to the source book) for all levels to make using the map easier.

Just came and grabbed these files and integrated manually into VTT, very nice work! Is there anyway way to get something like an Unlit version of KolatTowers_Winter_Roll20Paid.zip? All 6 levels, but with the internal lights disabled before export (and thus no light rays exiting the windows)? If that's substantial work because they're baked in, please ignore. :-) Thanks in advance either way!

The Kolat Towers files are fixed now too. Door added between K20/21 and secret doors noted on Lvl 6 DM overlay. Updated files attached above and in my dropbox. Thanks again for the detailed review - it's nice to get these cleaned up!

alright cool! I think it is important to say that I've been going through every map and scene and setting them up (foundry weirdness, can't use the foundryvtt versions) and of all the maps, these are the only things i've noticed, and the only thing left is the sanctum. Really great work, I love all the attention to detail, and the lighting work and variety options are SO cool. convenient naming structures make it easy to swap maps too, rather than have a bunch of scenes! Thanks a lot :D

thanks for all the feedback! i really appreciate these being flagged and an opportunity to clean things up. i'll hopefully get some time this week to clean up some of the other things you mentioned. re: K20/21 door - that is a mistake - door should be there.

oh and lvl6 gm overlay doesn't indicate where the secret doors are supposed to be

Very cool! on lvl3 there does not appear to be any door between k20 and k21. Is that intentional and I'm missing something in the build/adventure, or an accident? (roll20Paid All Releases)
