Mistshore - Waterdeep Dragon Heist - Encounter 2 (All Tiers)

Mistshore. Located in Waterdeep's Dock Ward, it is a riotous assemblage of ramshackle homes scattered amongst the docks and the remains of a beached pirate ship Kraken's Folly. The burnt our remains of buildings from an old fire are scattered in the southwest corner; the rest of the buildings don't look much better.

Map Notes. First off - wow there are a lot of tiny little buildings in this map.  I don't know if I've put down this many assets into a map before.  The description in the source book says it is homes, but I started to run out of decorating ideas so threw a few shops, taverns, trades, and storage areas into the mix to keep the map visually interesting - all while fitting the fishing/Harborfront theme.  The SW corner of the map has the majority of the fire devastation mentioned in the Mistshore intro although there are a few other charred buildings throughout.

The source book was quite light on details of everything so I added a mix of destitute (burned down area with folks camping out), poor (hammocks, many to a room), and lower class (they at least have beds).  You will also find 2 taverns (the small one beside the burned out area in the SW and the one out on the docks).  The docks themselves I used a regrettable technique of shaping boards individually to have the worn look (the outcome is fantastic, but it was very time consuming!)  One of the main things I went back and forth on was where to start the wooden dock vs. a cobble pier and settled on having a bit of a built out cobble pier before it transitions to the wood around the midpoint of the large ship - it seemed to fit best with how the wooden walkways were shown in the map in the source.

If using the foundry VTT files you will need to remove the wall that runs along the edge of the cobble area as well as likely along the edges of some ships

Files.  The zip files below are organized in 3 seasons and 3x folders per season: Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs. There is an additional folder for the Printable maps which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white.  

There is no summer encounter for this map.
