Here are the plans for the recent Simple Moravian. We're really proud to make this form as accessible as possible with this stripped-down version.

That's a good idea. I'd like it to easily fit into a pre-17th-century campsite. I have seen 2500-year-old Chinese "campaign furniture" tho', so I would just need to keep the joinery period. Yay, more research! :(

2023-05-18 00:32:07 +0000 UTCThanx Rex. Ever since I saw your first Moravian stool video, I've been thinking about making one that can be broken down for camping. I will use the sliding dovetails, but with the legs only going thru the battens. That way, the battens can be driven out to collapse it. Will the legs slip further up, pinning the battens against the seat, and forever wedging them in place? I guess time will tell.

2023-05-17 23:24:40 +0000 UTCIt looks quite similar to a step stool we had in the old cottage. My grandma said it was used some 100 years ago by her grandma for sitting while milking a cow. I still have it in my workshop, but it's a bit cracked. So I made a similar one a few years ago. Both had a sliding dovetail.
