Something i missed the first few times I watched this episode.
Dax and Bashir both get rank promotions off screen. Dax is a Lieutenant Commander now and Bashir is now a full lieutenant
We also saw Worf in Command Red in the all the way back in season 1 of TNG.

Your face when Worf arrived!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the episode so much. I actually read the novel of WOTW before the episode came out, I think I actually still have it somewhere. BTW the Klingon home world is called Kronos.

Thank you for doing this watch along version, it won't really be necessary again until the series finale.
Epic episode and isn't it really great to have such epic action and still have your characters act like rational and intelligent people?
Can't wait for you to actually see the opening credits.
Next episode is top 5 or 10 for many people I think.

I think itโs safe to say now this is probably the most popular reaction of DS9 and possibly all your Star Trek reactions yet!

I'm probably gonna watch this reaction like 5 times just to bask in how much fun you had, J, before I can actually analyze the episode again myself and post any intelligent commentary lol The reaction itself was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever watched. Certainly one of the most enjoyable tv show reactions I've ever watched.

Loved your reaction! Now you have to rewatch the opening titles!
And yes Worf is here to stay!
This was a landmark episode for the series and the Star Trek franchise going forward. There is so much to process in this episode! This was truly a historic. Itโs gets better which is insane!

First of all, even though I have a copy on DVD, I went with the "watch along" version to see how well it works and give some feedback on it. Generally, it worked very well. The one little kink was when I paused it and went to do a quick errand, with my computer going into standby mode. When I revived it, the video and audio were out of sync, but it was corrected when I reloaded the page. That was the only issue I found with it. Just thought you should know.
Yes, the reason why we didn't want you to watch the opening credits was because Michael Dorn was listed in them (and a guest star wouldn't be listed like that).
The fact that TNG ended and the other Star Trek show not being affected by the events in DS9 because of *reasons*, meant that DS9 had a lot of leeway to make changes in the Star Trek universe, as you will discover the rest of the way forward.
And DS9 will become a lot less episodic. Being considered the "red-headed stepchild" of Trek at the time kind of worked in its favor in that way. The main complaint by haters that "They never go anywhere" always sounded silly to me considering that they were parked next to a wormhole that would literally take them farther than the Enterprise ever traveled in more than just 2-3 episodes of TNG,

I was looking forward to your reaction to seeing Worf, Jen, and you didn't disappoint! This is where DS9 really kicks things into overdrive. You'll love how it all plays out! So many incredible episodes yet to come!
And speaking of which, there's a certain episode in Season 5 where you are going to absolutely lose it lol. DS9 veterans know which one I'm talking about. I won't say anything more, but trust me, you'll know it when you see it. ;)

The new theme music will definitely take some getting used to. I was almost looking forward to your reaction to that as much as Worf showing up!
"In war, there is nothing more honorable than victory." Always loved that line. It says so much about the Klingons.
They did a great job with the battle scenes, just as epic as what they did last season with the Cardassian/Romulan fleet vs the Jem'hadar, if not moreso.
And the root beer scene is classic too. One of the very best scenes on this show. Just two aliens, with very different backgrounds doing their best to understand the Federation.

Great episodes and great reaction. I love every season of DS9 but this season is where the series becomes very cinematic and hits a little different to other Treks.
