Raising Arizona (1987) Full Length Reaction
Added 2025-07-30 22:13:20 +0000 UTCOne more Coen brothers movie and this one had Nicholas Cage and a baby! I loved the wackiness, the camera work, the music and the overall Coen-feel of it. Was this movie a hit when it came out? Any other Coen bros movies we should check out?

Cage won an Academy Award best actor for Leaving Las Vegas. Hard movie to watch though. He got in tax trouble and he went on a binge making any movie he could get most of which were terrible. He made a LOT of lower budget trash. He definitely can be a bit over the top but sometimes that works. One of my favorite over the top roles is Bad Lieutenant which isn't for everyone. Moonstruck is a happier romance flick. Adaptation is another really good serious movie where he plays twins. I haven't seen it yet but a lot of people raved over Pig.

2025-08-01 05:41:11 +0000 UTCCage can be an excellent actor; Pig, Joe, and Wild at Heart at some of my favorites of his. The Coen Bros are the best. My favorite movie of theirs is definitely Barton Fink.
