Reservoir Dogs (1992) Full Length Reaction

Checkin out Tarantino's feature debut and it blew me away! No wonder he went on to do so many cool movies - you can see his style here from the start in the dialogue, the violence, the music! I really liked this one. Where does this one rank for you in the list of Tarantino's?

Reservoir Dogs (1992) Full Length Reaction

Finally managed to sit down and enjoy. :D Excellent reaction, very exciting, Miss Purple! Just like the movie. So happy you enjoyed as much as you did. I've just noticed I added this to your request site, in Aug 2023. Thank you, everyone who upvoted. ♥ This film was beyond ultra-cool in 1992. The major cinema chains wouldn't pick it up as it was considered too violent and controversial (police torture/murder, the copious quantities of claret). A tiny independent cinema in Glasgow, the Glasgow Film Theatre, picked it up. They were the first cinema in Scotland to show it and it was a *massive* success and ticket-seller, and after many weeks of the G.F.T. raking in tons of cash, and the film getting stories and articles in newspapers, the main cinemas picked it up (possibly in 1993) and it became a huge hit, especially for an unknown director's debut film. I was able to buy the American laserdisc release of it, way back in 1992 - before it was even in any big cinemas. It sold by the truckload! No dogs were harmed during the making of this film. 🐶🦴❤ Trivia that others may have commented about.. In a scene in Reservoir Dogs, the boss, Joe Cabot, relates to the surviving gang that an absent member is "as dead as Dillinger". Doubtless, a QT written Easter egg reference, as Lawrence Tierney's (Cabot) breakthrough role was playing the doomed 1930s bank robber, Dillinger, in a big 1945 released movie. The character Michael Madsen plays (Mr. Blonde / Vic Vega), in the QT movie-universe, is brother of hitman/goon Vincent Vega (Travolta) in Pulp Fiction. Tarantino has previously said that he thought about ideas for making a film about the Vega brothers, but it never materialized. And after so many years had past, the age of the actors and other factors made it unfeasible. He has also mentioned a young Vega brothers movie idea, with different actors playing them (obv). But again, lost in time. He has about 1000 movie ideas a year. 😅 In Reservoir Dogs, when Mr. Blonde (Madsen) meets boss Joe Cabot (Tierney) in his office, during the flashback scene.. Mr. Blonde mentions his parole officer is a ballbuster called Seymour Scagnetti. This character's brother, Detective Jack Scagnetti, appears in the QT written and Oliver Stone directed movie 'Natural Born Killers' (1994), and is played by Tom Sizemore. N.B.K. is brutal, btw. Well made but really disturbing. Big names in the cast. Two (insane) lovers-on-the-run become spree killing media darlings with a rabid fanbase within the general pop. Further btw, Reservoir Dogs is not a remake of, but it was massively inspired by a Chinese cinema action/drama called City on Fire (1987). Directed by Ringo Lam. Stars Chow Yun-fat. If you ever get into HK cinema, then John Woo and Ringo Lam are go-to directors. And Chow Yun-fat is your go-to Chinese 90s action superstar, he's very into using two guns at the same time. Makes for awesome action. Big shout out for True Romance. QT. Tony Scott. Hans Zimmer. A cavalcade of unforgettable A-lister star cameos and performances. You have the CD soundtrack already. It's a top voted Jen request lister. You know you want to. 😋 www.youtube.com/watch?v=bayyRPSXGq0 "Stealing. Cheating. Killing.
