My text alert on my phone is the TNG door chime. It can be kinda funny watching TNG sometimes and not being sure if the sound is my phone or the TV.

I really liked this episode. That poor Ferengi scientist—he didn't deserve that, but at least Beverly proved his shielding worked in the end. Guinan was a highlight too—giving Beverly the push she needed, some wisdom, and just the right amount of "get it together" energy. Gotta love that. And seriously, shame on the person who spoiled it for you, Jen. At least they could've said whether this was the last time we see Guinan or not—but hey, that's part of the mystery, I guess. Really excited to see you wrapping up TNG's sixth season, the remaining episodes (the last few ones are pretty fun especially with the season finale and moving onto the 7th/final season). And, of course, enjoying you continuing reacting to DS9's episodes and—hopefully soon—Voyager's! 😊

Spinning Side Kick! Of course, can't forget the moment when Jo Brill gets a gnarly 'Death Becomes Her' hole in his belly. Won't be the last time Trek borrows a famous Robert Zemeckis special effect either. ;)

Whoopi's appearances always add something special to the episode. Obviously they had to work around her film schedule so sometimes they wouldn't know she was available until after the script had already been written. I had read that often they swapped out Marina for Whoopi in these cases. Which kind of makes me sad because a lot of people see Troi as kind of useless but she could have potentially had a lot more interesting scenes. Not saying that I regret having more Guinan time because she is, as you say, one of the most interesting characters.

Enjoyed this episode a lot it's always fun seeing your wheels turning as you try to solve a mystery Jen 🙂 it's always cool seeing an unusual career path with races known for other careers , a ferengi scientist who would have thought . I never doubted Bev's assistant, she appears in quite a few episodes doing her thing which I really like about this show , a bit part character but no rando. Never thought it was the Klingon either they are all about honour and would consider murder dishonourable I'm sure . Great to see Bev's combat training coming I'm clutch that kick was great 🔥 . As always data was very helpful and as you said was totally unaware how helpful he was 😀 . Cheers for the as always great outro Jen it's always great hearing your thoughts .

I just noticed that the shuttlecraft in this episode is named “Justman.” I assume that’s in honor of one of the producers on The Original Series, Robert Justman, whose name appears in the credits in the majority of episodes across all three seasons. Cool easter egg for habitual credit readers.

My problem with this episode is Bev vaporised Jo Brill so she wanna hope the shuttles sensors were recording the whole thing so she could prove it was him all along

One of my favorite Ferengi related episodes and really even if that was the Ferengi way two murders and an autopsy would be done before the family could even know, really they could have paid the family for the autopsy they are Ferengi and all

Harmony through Time

Bev is the most moral of the TNG crew and the easiest to work with the most open minded

Harmony through Time

Piccard was just a plot device. I am sure the Federation would normally do an autopsy even without consent if there were possibly 2 murders. That is the way law enforcement handles it now. If foul play is suspected, family consent is not needed. The family not wanting to know if it was murder was also a bit of a contrived plot point just to make Beverly look a bit reckless and rogue. I didn't remember this one at all. I liked it so not sure why I never watched it on repeats.

As always a fantastic reaction from you, Jen. I really love this episode, it's my second favourite Beverly one, after Remember Me from Season 4. I couldn't help smiling though when you suspected Nurse Ogawa of being involved, but i like your suspicious mind.

"Morally Ambiguous" is a perfect term! It's not clear winners and losers. It just is what it is.
