More great episodes coming the next few weeks, they found their feet quickly, its rare for first seasons to be even half as good as this one

Harmony through Time

Still don't see the attraction to this series... I do remember why I was disappointed when these first episodes were first released... Folks say it gets better in the last few seasons... Might come back then... Trip to that point doesn't seem to be in the cards for me....

O'Brien is a non commissioned officer -- which is to say, he's not an "officer". A little later he gets some stripes and stars that show him to be a "Command Master Chief" which means in situations with no officers he is second in command, and basically the commander for the non officers on the station. Command Master Chief is, for lack of a better description like a Captain or Colonel for Non Commissioned Officers. It's not an officer, but it's a big fin deal. Technically an Ensign "out ranks" him, but if there was combat, he would be in command over everyone else Command NonCom ranks are weird.

All Obrien’s DS9 storylines are of getting tortured, interrogated, used, and abused—-much better than on boring enterprise.

Michael Tuffin

I reckon he got a pay rise too

The Space Station is actually Cardassian designed called TEROK NOR (DS9) and has a Sister Station called EMPOK NOR . O'brien made the decision to leave the Enterprise due to Keiko wanted a more stable environment for his family commitments

RebRox65

Deep Space Nine is a Cardassian designed space station that was built by Bajoran slave labor with materials that were mainly stolen from Bajor. And O'Brien had to leave the Enterprise because it was boring. He had nothing to do. https://chiefobrienatwork.com/

This was one of the first that I felt was very classic Trek and I might like DS9

Harmony through Time

No worries, was just trying to explain! I know it's a little different than other channels do it, but it gets the vids to you guys earlier most of the time. In future I may try to switch it up tho!

Hi Nate. I do that sometimes, but I cant always and seeing them here is nice with early access. I was just saying that it would be nice to see those afterward reactions and thoughts her, instead of having to wait. But I definitely do what you do,when I have time to. 👍

Geoff Vlcek

Hey Jen. I wasnt trying to make it sound like I wanted you to have to defend how you've done things. Just wanted to state what would be nice to see. That's all. :) Keep doing your thing as you see best. I'll still be supporting you. 👍

Geoff Vlcek

Hi Geoff, I sometimes watch the YT early access, followed by the Patreon outro.

Nate Gavin

Miles is an engineer who likes to solve problems. On DS9, he's the Chief Engineer. On the Enterprise, he was in charge of the transporter room, where most of the time, nothing interesting was going on. Sure, once in a while, he'd have to do the beam someone off the exploding ship thing, but most of the time, running the transporter was a snoozefest.

I've been doing it this way for years now, not just with Trek but with all edits for Early Access. I get these edits back from my editors way before I have time to add on my outro and finalize the final YT vids. I could wait to post those finalized vids as Early Access but it would likely be 1-2 days early only. I just figured people would rather see these edits weeks early 🤷

Jen M

I love your reactions, but I would love to see your post-show reactions here. Instead of having to wait to see them on YT. I know you are busy with the preganacy (congrats by the way!), so it might be too much work right now. Just wanted to throw my two cents in. :) Thanks for always entertaining us with your spot on comments and your genuine surprise moments are what bring my day joy!

Geoff Vlcek

The station is actually Cardassian. They put it there during the occupation of Bajor. “Cardassian architecture” is mentioned a few times throughout the series by the crew. However, it is now under control of the Federation and resides in Bajoran space.
