Seinfeld S04E03-06 Full Length Reaction

Comments

This season gets much better after these episodes. It turns into the full-blown, fully-grown, classic Seinfeld show, no more growing pains! (I think this great season starts off really weak, but ends up one of the best). (Season 5 is practically a perfect season, imo. Love Season 7 also.)

Extra funny thing about George's weird Ted Danson resentment is, in Curb Your Enthusiasm Danson is a recurring character as himself and from Larry David's perspective he's basically a villain on the show. And Larry is the inspiration for George.

I saw Seinfeld when it originally aired. It captured the Nation's attention like few others in history. I love Curb and Larry David, but it wouldn't exist without Seinfeld. I think if you had seen them in order as I did, you would probably feel differently. Seinfeld is iconic and has a very special place in fans' hearts because it was so groundbreaking. Curb was an amazing spin-off but it can't compare to Seinfeld in cultural significance. One could even argue Curb is actually funnier to someone who saw Seinfeld first because they're much more familiar with Larry David's personality and sensibilities going in, which enriches the experience.

Brian Cali

I'm enjoying Seinfeld lots, have never watched before. But Curb Your Enthusiasm is better, miles better.

Jason Scade

Yeah I remember that, it's just that this one was the shortest yet so I thought I would razz her a bit. Even if there's no analysis I'm not sure why we don't at least get the normal tagline that ends every other video. 🤷‍♂️

Brian Cali

Hi there. In an earlier Seinfeld outro, Jen said she was probably going to be skipping outros on Seinfeld as "there wasn't a whole lot to discuss." (If I recall correctly) I'm sure you'll know that either co-creator Larry David or Seinfeld famously said of the series; "It's a show about nothing." 😅

Jason Scade

Father Ted is so freaking funny.

Red Dwarf

Wow, I didn't think these outros could get any shorter... Can we not even get a "I had a great time, I hope you guys had a great time, too?"

Brian Cali

Yes! Father Ted is from the same creator as The IT Crowd. A+++ tier comedy. It's basically the pre-IT Crowd IT Crowd. Only 3 series, all solid gold. Three extremely different priests have been assigned to a parochial house in very remote, desolate island off Western Ireland. They're all in the doghouse and the location is punishment. The social cringe is off the scale and the embarrassing situations they get into are unbelievably funny (much like IT Crowd). You'll love a character called Dougal, he's a human puppy.

Jason Scade

Great episodes. Season four is when the show took off, both in quality and viewership. It was moved to a new timeslot following Cheers, which was in its final season.

David Murray

This might or might not be a long shot, but when you're done with Seinfeld, there's a freakin hilarious Irish show inspired by, but different from, Seinfeld. FATHER TED. It only ran for 3 seasons. It has a higher Rotten Tomatoes rating than Seinfeld, and about the same rating on IMDB.

Hinkley tried to kill Reagan to impress Jodie Foster

Jerry Seinfeld was approached by NBC to make a sitcom, he teamed up with Larry David - who George is based on - who came up with the idea for the show. Larry David was eventually banned from attending meetings with NBC because he was too volatile Larry David had a neighbour called Kenny Kramer, who did want to play himself if they used his name Seinfeld was dubbed 'The Show About Nothing' by the press Eventually George and the other cast would be offered a million dollars an episode, eclipsing Ted Danson

Witchfinder General

Man, these episodes were so good. This is where the show really took off.

Banes

This IS a comedy version of how it really happened, with Jerry being offered a show. He brought Larry David in to create it with him, and George is based on Larry David. And Larry David IS a character, indeed. There's even a real Kramer, who was Larry David's neighbor.

Banes

I hope after Seinfeld ends you react to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I feel like they took the sitcom-baton from Seinfeld; lowering the morality of the main characters even further.

Noremac

Beautiful thumbnail this should be a cracker 🔥💙

Ian

The Hinkley comment is comparing what’s his face to John Hinckley, the crazy guy who shot U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Michael Tuffin

She blinded me with Seins…

Banes

Keep em coming Jen!!

JakeToll

Nothing its about NOTHING!

Witchfinder General

Wait til you really get to know George's parents. And the Hinkley joke is about John Hinkley Jr. He shot President Reagan. Claimed insanity. Actually out of jail now.

nick bell

Just FYI, Julia Louis Dreyfus was on maternity leave, that's why she is missing in a few episodes.

Woohoo always love when new Seinfeld reactions drop and now I have something to watch while I eat my pizza.
