And I finally see where all the jokes I grew up with came from lolllll I heard there's a sequel and a prequel - any interest in those?

Never saw it, but I had to give this one a chance on Netflix, just because you seemed to have a good time of it. Some of this, I was just going through sympathetic embarrassment for the characters, shielding my eyes and groaning, "omfg this is really happening!" 😂 I absolutely loved the dark humor, though, like the kid wth the dead parakeet ("pretty bird... polly want a cracker?") and the cop drinking the "kidney filtered beer" 😉

There's no filler, the script is really tight, well acted and it looks great too. There are some really beautifully framed shots dispersed throughout the film(the big wide shots in the middle of nowhere, the sunset through the windscreen framed by the cars fur). Big Gulps, huh?

2024-04-15 17:35:31 +0000 UTCMaybe the sequel, I haven't seen that one. I think you should watch 'Liar, Liar' and 'Ace Ventura' is funny too. And I'm surprised you haven't mentioned this, but Jim Carrey is Canadian, born in Newmarket, Ontario.

2024-04-14 16:59:53 +0000 UTCI know, I have the movie on disc but it's blueray and not dvd. Couldn't find a dvd version online anywhere so I just skipped and tried to keep syncing up with Jens video. Kinda annoying but I still enjoyed it. I might be a masochist.

2024-04-13 12:44:55 +0000 UTCThat was so much fun a blueprint on how brilliant your reactions are Jen your laugh is magical 🔥 movie is total bananas ofc but just a fun time , oddly the dvd ran at a different speed so had to abandon that and couldn't find the 1.46 version so had to keep resyncing and at one point took forever to get back on track which kinda ruined the experience a bit but I still had a good time and the YouTube edit should be great 👍 chose a bottle of cider instead of beer it wasn't my finest idea lol cheers as always though Jen it was wonderful to see you having such fun . I'd love you to watch ace Ventura ofc but also cable guy and liar liar , the truman show is fantastic you're going to enjoy that one I promise 🔥

It's a sports comedy about a washed up pro bowler who trains an up-and-coming, naive Amish bowler. It's a fun screwball. Good cast. Jim Carrey, 'Man on the Moon' (1999) a bio comedy-drama about highly offbeat performance artist / comedian Andy Kaufman.

Jim Carey top 3 movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) = drama/sci-fi The Truman Show (1998) = psychological comedy drama Liar Liar (1997) = fantasy comedy/thriller For Jeff Daniels, consider: Good Night, and Good Luck (2005) Fly Away Home (1997). Rated PG. Drama. Okay for kids. GODLESS (2017) miniseries (only 7 episodes). You would not believe the character he plays. He won an Emmy.

Lasted less than 2 years. The other Dumb and Dumber movies describe the sequel and prequel, respectively. Do not waste time watching. DO watch Liar Lair, which I think is his best comedy. Ace Ventura, obviously. The Mask is also good and Jen will love Milo. And finally, I say Me, Myself and Irene is his 2nd or 3rd best comedy, lumped with Liar Liar and Dumb and Dumber. MM&I also stars Renée Zellweger, who Jim also dated. He also dated Jenny McCarthy for 5 years.

2024-04-12 23:30:57 +0000 UTCIn my opinion the best Jim Carrey performances are in: The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Man on the Moon, The Majestic and The Truman Show. that said… nearly all of his comedies are hits with the except of the children’s films and a few of the darker films like “The Number 23”.
