Weekly Poll #60

I asked a friend to pick a random year -- these movies are all from 1995! (non-comedies, there's already a comedy on schedule)

Which reaction will you WATCH? If you will watch the reaction vote for it, if not don't vote for it! Multiple votes allowed!

**If having issues voting - open the actual poll post, sometimes you can't vote just on the feed** If issues voting on mobile app-- try desktop!**

I love Waterworld. My wife loves The Postman...but hates Waterworld which is funny cause it's basically the same movie

Andrew Hafey

Waterworld was considered a "bomb" when it was released, both at the box office and by the critics. My memory of seeing it in the Cinema was it was enjoyable. It suffered in the press from having gone way over budget. Also, IIRC Kevin Costner had had a string of hits and some folks were wishing he'd have a bomb... Hollywood is weird that way .

Go into the actual post and u can change your vote

Jen M

Apollo 13 and Crimson Tide are on my channel

Jen M

Yes, 1995, that's Stallone's Judge Dredd, the one that actually tried to work in a little of the comic's dark humor, not the grim humorless Karl Urban version. I'll agree, though, that 1995 was pretty dire, and where 90's movies first started their full slip into 90's Movies. (And i assume we've already watched Casper, Apollo 13, Pocahontas, Babe, Crimson Tide, and Showgirls?)

Eric Janssen

I mistook Dead Man Walking (1995) for the Johnny Depp movie Dead Man (also 1995) and was surprised it didn't do too well. I need to modify my vote.

Grga Pitic

And by 12 votes currently! Couldn't have called that one!

mikethemotormouth

Not critically acclaimed, but I like The 13th Warrior (1999).

Clay F

Agreed. I love it so much, it's nothing original but it's still solid. Stunning to look at and the soundtrack is incredible. I added Oblivion to the request list originally, it's my fave Tom Cruise sci fi.

Jason Scade

So glad Outbreak is actually winning so far, am surprised!

Mark McKeown

Que l'on dissout le peuple!

Happy Hanukkah

I have to admit, this is the most 1995 list of 1995 movies that ever 1995'd. :)

Bryan Tuck

Desperado is incredible, the voters for the most part are out of touch.

Derek Big D Garcia

Blast From The Past.

Chuck Drennen

HACK THE PLANET! The 4K remaster of Hackers just dropped in the past couple months and I want another excuse to watch it! HACK THE PLANET! THEY'RE TRASHING THE SYSTEM!

djKENTO

Oh well. What you gonna do? :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Nothing against this particular pick by the Producer (who generally has excellent picks), but it seems to introduce a particular skew to this poll. (Audrey Hepburn Poll: My Fair Lady, Charade, Roman Holiday, Robin and Marian. Producer's Pick: Malcolm X. :-) ) (Yes, I am aware of Jen's usual clarification, and that my objection currently seems academic.) If we're already unclear on the concept of the poll :-) : 1. Re Waterworld, I much prefer Kevin Costner's other epic flop, The Postman (1997) 2. Re Desperado, I'd rather see Robert Rodriguez' original movie, El Mariachi (1992). And to make it up to Antonio Banderas, we can watch The 13th Warrior (1999). In fact, let's throw out this entire poll and watch The 13th Warrior! :-) Re Hackers, I'll content myself with quoting Travis, "terrible in the best way." It's a fun movie, which despite its Hollywoodisms still manages to capture the spirit of the matter. (Also Angelina Jolie's first film, arguably.) And surely Mortal Kombat is the obvious choice after Highlander. Heh heh heh. :-) :-P

Happy Hanukkah

Cool idea to pick a year and make a poll out of that - it's yielded some cool titles! Like, there can't be many reactions to Nick of Time! Or Waterworld! Or some of these others.

Banes

I don't always go by the site. And sometimes I have certain titles in the schedule already or plans for them.

Jen M

Kinda suck that Bad Boys has never done well in the polls, its one of my favorites from the 90s and the music is amazing PLUS Marg Helgenberger is in it πŸ˜πŸ˜†

Carlos Perez

Oblivion is such a subtle, incredible film. In my Top 100, it possesses a great final "YEAH!" And I'd love to see this reaction sometime, even if it doesn't win this particular poll.

Terdell Ferguson

Mortal Kombat has some cheesy stuff, but good fun if you were fan of the arcade game back in the day.

Daniel

I went to your request site and sorted 'Chronological'. Three of the five most-requested 1995 movies aren't on the poll (Toy Story with 23 requests, Jumanji with 20, Mallrats with 17). I'd watch Toy Story with you.

Who Are These People

Best sound tho.

Who Are These People

If you watch Waterworld please do the extended cut that came out many years later. It's much better imo

Lorenzo Turner

-I love Waterworld.

zynjams

Welp still keeping my fingers crossed for Nick of Time! πŸ˜‚πŸ€žβŒš

Adam Romero

For real! Lmao

Julian San

Man, I remember 1995 being a pretty good year for movies. I guess I was wrong haha 🀣

Julian San

I'll start making a NONE vote so you guys can let me know how much my polls suck lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ And I do decade polls sometimes when I already have 2 movies from other decades on the schedule

Jen M

Rain Man is on Patreon and 12 Monkeys is on my channel.

Jen M

1995, not a good year for movies. 🀣

Robert Cooper

If you're ever in the mood for an awesome western, then post up Sam Raimi's "The Quick and the Dead", which also has a heavy cast. And it's the only western I can think of with a leading lady gunslinger (played by Sharon Stone). The poll results overlook its badassery.

Prof. Writhms

Dead Man Walking is the best movie on the list.

Clay F

I’d say oblivion is the best picture on this list. Dredd is a great laugh and although I enjoyed outbreaks at the time if you watch contagion it’s like a children’s cartoon

LDC7080

Wow. None of the above for me. 90s was a pretty good decade for music, movies, not so much. I know, just my opinion. But my no votes doesn’t fairly reflect the fact that I participated in this poll.

TC53

You've seen 'Dredd', so you don't need Stallone's pathetic 'Judge Dredd'. If you want Jackie Chan, go to the OG 'Drunken Master' or 'Once Upon a Time in China'. 'Matrix' holds up, 'Johnny Mnemonic' doesn't. 'Rob Roy' is 'Braveheart'-lite. 'Outbreak' is a ok, but after working in a school district during COVID I'm over it. Besides, if you want some Dustin Hoffman, start with 'Rain Man' (JEN ALREADY DID!) or even the silly-fun 'Tootsie'. If it has to be 1995, then 'Sense and Sensibility' is probably one of the best movies you haven't seen already. 'Leaving Las Vegas' also up there.

Who Are These People

*DEAD MAN WALKING (1995). RT=95% (audience score = 86%). IMDb=7.5 Metacritic=80% --Susan Sarandon won Oscar for Best Actress. Oscar nominees include: --Best Actor (Sean Penn) completely transforms himself -- fits character perfectly --Best Director (Tim Robbins) --Best Music/Original Score (Bruce Springsteen) *OUTBREAK (1995). RT=59% (audience score = 56%). IMDb=6.6 Metacritic=64% --Saturn Award nominee for Best Science Fiction Film --NAACP Image Award nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor (Cuba Gooding Jr) --L.A. Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor (Kevin Spacey) *WATERWORLD (1995). RT=46% (audience score = 43%) IMDb=6.3 Metacritic=56% --Oscar nominee for Best Sound --Saturn Award nominee for Best Science Fiction Film --Saturn Award nominee for Best Costumes

Clay F

All movies are 1995 except last one.

Jen M

Is the Judge Dredd the Stallone version? That's the one with high drama that makes it worth while

Anthony Peterson

Oblivion πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰!! Even though you just watched one of the same theme.

FranciscoGios

Rewatched it fairly recently, doesn't hold up.

Who Are These People

I picked Waterworld because I truly like it, but Outbreak should probably win. That said, Oblivion is a romp, and I totally agree with your producer that it should be reacted to soon

John Armbruster

Really pulling for Hackers and Johnny Mnemonic

Ian M

Love Outbreak

Mark McKeown

1995 is a GREAT year. But most of them are not on this list (or she's done them already).

Helly R

Outbreak is one you’ll really enjoy. Amazing cast

Justtired

1995 was a good year

Michael Aalgaard

Mortal Kombat and Judge Dredd are quite fun. I think you would enjoy either.

Wade Wallenstein

Nice!! While 1997 is my favorite year, 1995 is not too bad!!

Carlos Perez

Let's just say if you were someone of a certain age, Species definitely was something to catch on late night TV.

Helly R

Oh I hope Johnny Mnemonic gets a view. It's an interestimg story, relevant to our world today and what might be to come. No good reactions to it yet!! May you be the first!!

Kristin D

Hack the Planet!

Reed James

There's some proper "meh" here

fargoboyle .

Batman Forever is the most comic accurate Batman movie

DownrightSuperb

"All these movies are from 1995" I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say the original πŸ˜…

mikethemotormouth

Wow now that's a crazy good poll I voted almost every one πŸ₯³ this is going to be a fun poll to see unfold πŸ™Œ no losers in this one , great job Jen

Ian

My first pick is outbreak but hackers is terrible in the best way

Travis

Todd Preble

Oblivion is definitely worth seeing.

Tom W.

Which Mortal Kombat? Original or one of the new ones?

Reed James
