Chaplin is a must. But Jen, if you watch The Gold Rush, please don't watch the free version on Amazon Prime (has a terribly boring piano score). The best version is here, on The Criterion Channel (you can watch it for free with 7-day trial). It has a full orchestral score composed by Chaplin himself. https://www.criterionchannel.com/videos/the-gold-rush-1925 (Avoid the 1942 version. It has Chaplin's narration instead of title cards.)

2024-03-03 14:32:39 +0000 UTCa couple of suggestions for future categories: 1. 1950's science fiction movies - some are good, some are so bad they are now classics, and 2. old comedy movies with people like Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, Three Stooges, Charlie Chaplin, Keystone Kops, etc. - nothing is better for the mind and soul than good old laughter!
