I love this film. On the surface it is terribly bleak, and there are some really traumatising moments. Sue's walk back into the house after the drive-by hit me harder than anything from, say, Requiem for a Dream. But if you look there's a lot of warmth, hope, and absolutely shedloads of redemption. It's a real diamond-in-the-rough.
