Yippie! Been waiting for this one! I see other commenters mentioning Dog Day Afternoon. I’d LOVE to see you react to that one!

That's a VERY good way to describe Heat without being insulting about its weaker points (love how Jen says "There is a LOT of talking right now!") Agreed on Dog Day Afternoon. Nothing like those gritty New York 70s flicks!

Mike Minerals

fun fact... that event was inspired by a true event between an ex cop consultant Mann worked with and the real Neil McCauley

Really interesting to watch your reaction to this! Heat has achieved “classic” status in the popular consciousness, but people are actually pretty divided on it in my experience. It’s got some excellent sequences, including the famous bank robbery and the Pacino/DeNiro diner scene, but it’s also VERY slow and talky, and maaaaaybe a little too impressed with itself sometimes. Can’t wait to hear your final thoughts when the video goes live! (Also: Dog Day Afternoon is a fantastic, classic bank-robbery-gone-wrong film with Pacino and John Cazale. I cannot recommend it highly enough!)

Alan Kingsley

the reason the SWAT member sat down noisily in the van is because Detective Hanna was rude to him. Which is also the reason Waingro felt like murdering that security guard, after Michael told him, 'stop talking slick'. Casual rudeness kicks off a LOT of wildly violent and unpredictable chaos in this movie! Kindness is free, but when you have a sore attitude you're gonna have a tough time saying sensible productive things to your co-workers.
