🗳️ Weekly Poll #20
Added 2023-05-21 17:17:51 +0000 UTC
Winner of last week's poll was 🏆 Goodfellas
These are all movies from my HUGE list that I personally would like to see. These polls help me narrow down my own choices from a list of hundreds so thanks for your help!
Movies not chosen may be back on future polls or watched later in schedule.
Vote for as many as you like! (This helps me know how much interest there is in each movie)

I love The Abyss but James Cameron has been working on the blu-ray so long that he is now about to finish the 4k to be released sometime this year (fingers crossed). I would say wait for the Abyss until the movie is re-released later this year and you should be able to either get a physical copy or stream from somewhere. Also it should have a large leap in video and audio quality.
2023-05-25 17:25:58 +0000 UTCI can't say anything bad about Conan but The Usual Suspects is a much more fulfilling movie. The are both must sees for any film student but Conan's a little further down the list.

2023-05-24 20:03:24 +0000 UTCI understand your viewpoint and share it. But I think it's a good accounting of what happened during that operation. Its only drawback is that it glazes over Bill Clinton's incompetence and particularly his feeble attempt to lay the blame for his FUBAR on the UN.

2023-05-24 00:15:06 +0000 UTCSaw Conan when it came out, Arnie was big then so it was fun. I think LARPers are keeping it alive now.

2023-05-23 23:58:48 +0000 UTCSaw it once, it made me so angry I can not watch again. I had just participated i Desert Storm 2 years before where we totally dominated and then we were so humiliated in Somalia, made me very sad.

2023-05-23 23:55:40 +0000 UTCI’m glad to see Fargo is winning. But for second place hopefully we can get just one more vote for The Usual Suspects?? 🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻

2023-05-22 23:28:30 +0000 UTCI can't believe that "Black Hawk Down" is in 6th place. 🙁 That is crazy!

2023-05-22 22:45:22 +0000 UTCThey say you shouldn't have to read the source material, but sometimes it's necessary. Ernest Cline is the author of "Ready Player One", and it is an amazing novel. The Top three that I recommend are "Starship Troopers" by Robert Heinlein, "The Revenge of the Sith" by Matthew Stover, and "Ready Player One".

2023-05-22 05:25:31 +0000 UTCAs a Minnesota resident I am SO sick of seeing anything having to do with "Fargo", but I understand that some people love the film. Whatever. "Ready Player One" is based on a novel by Ernest Cline that you would absolutely love! The only possible person that could have done the book justice on film was Spielberg, and he did a good job. Both the novel and film are chock-full of pop-culture references from the 70's and 80's that you would get a lot more of now that you have come this far on your Motion Picture Journey, in fact those references are an integral part of the plot! I voted for this one and "Conan the Barbarian"

2023-05-22 00:59:47 +0000 UTCI voted for the Abyss. I highly recommend seeing the extended version available on DVD!
2023-05-22 00:23:51 +0000 UTCI saw Conan when I was a kid. Became the biggest Arnie fan. Terminator, Commando, Running Man, Predator, T2... They made HeMan in Conan’s image, plus a little Star Wars and other iconic 80s stuff. Don’t watch Ready Player One. It’s just a bunch of mindless references you’d think someone like myself would like . But naw, they shouldn’t have! I liked Starlord a lot more until I realized he’s all about references too: Kevin Bacon, David Hasselhoff, etc. BE YOUR OWN PERSON!
