NEXT POLL or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let My Patrons Decide 😂
Added 2023-05-08 20:20:55 +0000 UTCOk guys... every time I post a poll it just seems so many people are unhappy with the choices I select, the categorization, etc. It's no big deal, it happens, but I thought we could try something new:
You guys are making the next poll!
Doesn't matter to me how you do it -- comment here, discord, email each other, elect someone to compile submissions, do what you gotta do!
Saturday May 13th I need to know what the choices are.
Patreon lets you have up to 25 choices but you don't have to. You can have multiple choice or select one.
I won't be just taking choices from comments below so you'll probably need to settle on someone to bring me the final list Sat!
♡ Go nuts 👍
** Note: it'll be back to normal polls made by me week after next + if no consensus is reached + delivered by Saturday for this poll I'll make my own poll! **

Jen, First and foremost let me just say, you’ve done an awesome job with your channel. For the last year and a half, I’ve enjoyed your reactions. Also, it’s not that people aren’t happy with your choices for each poll. It just could be that they already seen the choices or feel that it’s already been reacted by others and probably don’t want to see it again. It’s not that your choices are bad selections, is my whole point. Just remember, what it comes down to is, Its YOUR channel. At the end of the day, you have total creative control and have the final say. However, if you are looking for new poll choices here are mine; movies from my favorite director Quentin Tarantino. I know you’ve seen Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained already so I’ll leave them out. Here’s his others movies you haven’t seen yet; Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Vol 2, Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight, Death Proof, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Another poll to consider would be “Movies with a plot twist ending”. In which case my choices would be, Memento, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, The Mist, The Usual Suspects, The Departed, Parasite (2019), The Others, Promising Young Woman. Movies from Paul Thomas Anderson would also take under consideration like; Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, Punch-Drunk-Love and Phantom Thread. Also movies from the Coen Brothers; Fargo (1996), No Country For Old Men, Burn After Reading, A Serious Man, True Grit (2010). Keep up the great work 👍🙂

2023-05-18 02:26:52 +0000 UTCI think To Wa’s plan for the 8 film poll is great! I think that Fury Road can be watched independently or as part of the series.

2023-05-14 18:44:17 +0000 UTCIf you're going to do a John Wayne film, "The Quiet Man" would be a great choice.

2023-05-13 17:50:12 +0000 UTCI wholeheartedly agree with you Carlos.
Lee Pitman
2023-05-13 17:24:46 +0000 UTCExactly, and that's how it should be done in my opinion. This was an interesting social experiment that shows how desperate some are to control what you watch after criticising your own choices.
Lee Pitman
2023-05-13 17:22:57 +0000 UTCThe only films to receive 4 or 5 votes were: Inception (2010) Glory (1989) Taxi Driver (1976) Scarface (1983) The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) Memento (2000) Gone Girl (2014) Seems like a reasonable poll. Or... There were another 18 movies that received 3 votes a piece. Combine all 3, 4, and 5 vote winners an you get 24 movies. Subtract The Naked Gun and you have a list of 23 movies ready for polling. Easy Peasy! The Verdict is in. What do you think?

2023-05-13 16:25:42 +0000 UTCFor the record, I still prefer the "Jen picking movies and making polls on her own" approach

2023-05-13 16:16:42 +0000 UTCThis is a different Beau Mont and I wholeheartedly agree with the previous Beau Mont, who like I said I do not know personally.

2023-05-13 15:52:37 +0000 UTCI think I can safely speak for all of your Patreons when I say we would overwhelming prefer a John Wayne Poll, or we could just cut out the middleman and watch "Big Jake" (1971). Everyone's Fan Favorite.
Beau Mont
2023-05-13 15:51:26 +0000 UTCSo, what's the verdict?
Jen M
2023-05-13 15:42:19 +0000 UTCAll the polls I do every week are made up of movies I want to watch! Polls simply help me narrow down the choices 👍
Jen M
2023-05-13 14:28:00 +0000 UTCUsing Jen's spreadsheet, this a list of all 5 and 4 vote receivers: Inception (2010) Glory (1989) Taxi Driver (1976) Scarface (1983) The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) Memento (2000) Gone Girl (2014) This seems like it should be a poll. (Personally, I think Mad Max: Fury Road should be reacted to as the 4th film in the 4 Mad Max series.) After this poll, I would suggest a poll of the 17 movies that received 3 votes a piece. What do you guys think about that? Jen? [ Thank you to Dr. JonasVenture for his suggestion. GO TEAM VENTURE! ]

2023-05-12 19:58:47 +0000 UTCThis seems reasonable but I’d suggest only including the films with 4 or 5 votes. Eight films is plenty for a poll.

2023-05-12 17:42:50 +0000 UTCJen, what kind of movie do you feel like watching?
Lee Pitman
2023-05-12 07:06:15 +0000 UTCGood news everybody! Using Jen's spreadsheet, I was able to determine there were: 2 movies with 5 votes each 6 movies with 4 votes each 18 movies with 3 votes each for a total of 24 ( actually 23 when you eliminate Naked Gun which is a recent reaction). I can't think of a better plan than using these 23 for the poll. What do you guys think? What about you, Jen? [In the the interests of full disclosure, only two of the 23 selections are movies I voted for.]

2023-05-11 22:55:08 +0000 UTCI've been asked to pass this list on to everyone. But it's up to you guys if this is the final list, I'm leaving it to you! And note, I can only make 25 choices on a poll. 2023-05-11 10:55:29 +0000 UTCThe best reactions are when the reactor likes the movie. Based on watching Jen's reactions, I have put together a list of movies I believe she will like. 1. What's Up Doc? (1972) 2. What's Up Tiger Lily? (1965) 3. Conan The Barbarian (1982) 4. The Wind and the Lion(1975) 5. The Andromeda Strain (197?) 6. Vertigo (1958?) 7. The Birds (1960) 8. Lolita(1962) 9. After Hours (198?) 10./11. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (195?, 1978) 12. The Great Race(196?) 13. On The Waterfront (195?) 14. On the Beach (195?) 15./16./17. The Omen Trilogy - The Omen (1976) Damien: Omen II (1978?) The Final Conflict (1981) 18. Annie Hall (1977) 19. Shampoo (1975) 20. 1941 (1979) 21. The Manchurian Candidate (196?) 22. The Boys From Brazil (1978) 23. Cabaret(1972) 24. Tootsie (1982) 25. The Road Warrior (1982)

2023-05-11 05:55:47 +0000 UTCI like this idea, the hard part is getting everyone else to cooperate with it. I gave it an honest try by putting a list together based on everyones requests, mostly just for fun, but I think its better she releases her own poll at this point! 😂

2023-05-11 03:13:54 +0000 UTCNow that you have discovered Peter Sellers I would recommend Being There. It was his second to last movie and one of his greatest performances. A great social/political satire even if it is a little dated. It was a popular and critically acclaimed movie when it came out in 1979 but seems to have been largely forgotten about these days for some reason.

2023-05-11 00:30:49 +0000 UTCAnd just to add Jen, I’m always happy with your choice for polls.👍 And also like to add CASINO ROYAL (original) for more Bond with Peter Sellers.

2023-05-11 00:28:30 +0000 UTCNotes, I think this can self-organize, Others working on a compiled spreadsheet if running out of time, they can choose their best guess 25 (or less) of the likely titles and post it asking for upvotes. Explain that if it gets the most likes it will be presented to Jen - this will cause self-organization. Anyone with a better list can do the same thing. There are already a few good lists to vote on. Logically the most upvoted list must be the best list to give to Jen.

2023-05-11 00:22:45 +0000 UTCOH JEN WHATEVER HAVE YOU DONE, this is gonna be a freaking frenzy, but hay its happening so here’s my suggestions: Short Circuit (nice 80s family robot movie) Runaway (80s bad robot movie with Gean Simmons from KISS) Breakfast at Tiffany’s (absolute classic Audrey Hepburn movie) Once upon a time in America - (my favourite gangster movie ever) Casino- (second greatest gangster movie) Kelly’s Hero’s- best war movie ever Outland / Rising Sun (two forgotten Sean Connery movies) The Italian Job (original) you love a good heists movie, well doesn’t get better than this trust me and has some brilliant 60s music The Rocketeer - you wanted some more Timothy Dalton Tomb Raider 1/2 Boat Trip - if you want some more Rodger Moore like you’ve never seen him before in this brilliant comedy Hope some of these make the list

2023-05-11 00:17:57 +0000 UTCI think this can work! Remember we're creating a list for Jen and then a poll will be created to pick the movie winner/s! Therefore, here's an idea simplified, 1) A few have already compiled lists based on the suggestions here. How about we just vote on the best list? 2) How to vote - we just click a heart on the best list that represent suggestions from the comments. The one with the most hearts is the winner! Anyone can create a list. Anyone can vote on any list here. Any list is valid. There should be 20 to 25 titles on the list (it can be much less). The better organized list will probably get a lot of hearts. The best list compiled from the most popularly suggested titles will probably win. Toward the end folks should call out the leading lists, maybe mention their name and so people can find their list and can vote. There could be a snowball of upvotes!
