Comments

If you do another Hitch, Strangers on a Train, Suspicion, and his only black comedy, "The Trouble with Harry"

Richard Powers Hardt

I've done 4 Hitchcock's already, check them out if you missed them!

Jen M

70s, 80s and 90s all genres!!

Carlos Perez

I'm down for a Hitchcock series, please

BB

Voted for all of them from 90's on down.โค

Celeste McAllister

If we're talking Clint Eastwood, I'd like to add Where Eagles Dare (1968).

Andy Raffle

That's a weird movie I started watching in the managers office of a pizza hut.

Reed James

I voted for 70's movies. I highly recommend Chinatown, The Getaway, The Godfather Part 2, The Taking of Pelham 123, The Warriors, and Mad Max to name a few! :)

I second The Day of the Jackal (1973).

Ian Cano

Putting in my usual request for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 90s comedy/adventure/anthology? Also one that I haven't mentioned before is The Cincinnati Kid if we want to go old-timey 60s drama.

Some pre-1950 film Noir like Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, The Big Sleep or early romcoms like 'Bringing Up Baby (1938)', or (1934) 'It Happened One Night' (The first original Rom-Com). Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry Series of Films (the 1970s), Excalibur and Legend or both excellent Fantasy Films, Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 film Romeo and Juliet with Olivia Hussey as Juliet. and Lenard Whiting as Romen (a masterpiece of acting and music). Classic Ainime 'GHOST IN THE SHELL', 'COWBOY BEBOP', 'AKIRA'.

Clifton Owens

For historical I would say Lawrence of Arabia and The Last Emperor, which won all 9 Oscars it was nominated for in 1987. It would also be a great tribute to composer Ryuichi Sakamoto who just passed away. For fantasy Excalibur and Legend with Tom Cruise. Dirty Harry, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Outlaw Josey Wales for Clint Eastwood. And Barry Lyndon, 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange for Kubrick. My two cents.

Geoff S.

Have you seen any of the Final Destination series Jen? That's always a fun ride!

Mark McKeown

These are some random suggestions of films that come to mind...ones I would watch if I saw listed in the Turner Classic Movies schedule. Stealing the first courtesy of MizD, "Niagara" (1953); "One Two Three" (1961) in James Cagney's last starring role before pretty much retiring;"The Day of the Jackal" (1973)...what a nailbiting thriller!); "The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three" (1974) (love Matthau in a serious role but the usual dry-wit wisecracking; "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (1988); "Firefox" (1982) (another steal from above); "Fail Safe" (1964); "Dr Strangelove" (1963); The Pink Panther series pretty much starting with "A Shot in the Dark" (1964) through "Revenge of the Pink Panther" (1978)....the others probably would not translate well for a watchalong.

Itโ€™s halfway to Halloween. There hasnโ€™t been a horror film for a while. Just sayinโ€™.

I know this isn't on any lists of yours right now, but allow me to suggest a tv show? ... you might want to consider Doctor Who. :) It's a great sci/fi show that's also filled with humor, and heart. It has ongoing storylines that get you hooked on the characters, and lots of monsters and mayhem too! I wonder if your patrons are interested in that? Hey all ... what do you think about doing Doctor Who? (and i'm specifically suggesting Nu Who. Eccleston and up to begin with) Yes? No?
