Hey guys-- to be transparent with you I am re-thinking watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo this week, for 2 reasons.
First, because of how poorly Zodiac is performing on YouTube. It's really important to be flexible with a channel's content and if something isn't working well to be willing to change up the plan.
It wouldn't mean I won't ever watch Dragon Tattoo, but maybe wait on it for a bit to space out from Zodiac or do it as a Patreon exclusive.
Second, I've gotten a larger than normal amount of messages suggesting I watch the original Swedish Dragon Tattoo instead or before so I may want to do a poll on that or plan to watch both.
SO, wondering if you guys would be interested in any of the other 2nd place poll winners so far this year instead? Do you think any of them might perform better for my channel?

2023-04-15 11:40:12 +0000 UTCFincher's Draon Tattoo remake is underrated as remakes so soon usually are bad so I don't this got a fair shake.. I don't think it matters which one you watch first but it's your decision. I won't be watching the Demo Man reaction though, that movie sucks

2023-04-12 07:45:33 +0000 UTCI work in theatre and this is a problem we run into all the time when programming a season. There’s just no accounting for taste, and Zodiac, much as I think it’s a great movie (for me, it’s Fincher’s best), has a lot of stuff general audiences don’t like: it’s long, it’s meditative, it’s not flashy or funny. It’s dark, it’s disturbing, and most of all, it’s not a known quantity. It didn’t do well when it was released, and it has not become a cult classic or anything. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has literally all the same problems, so I can understand your reticence. With stuff like this, I find it useful to do a four to one ratio. For every four videos you do with commercial concerns in mind, do one that’s maybe a little edgier or less likely to perform well. There is something to be said, I think, for doing pieces like Zodiac. You never know what might be a sleeper. I’ve noticed a couple of reactors that I follow doing it lately - I know Cinebinge put out a Zodiac reaction the same week you did, and I think maybe Popcorn in Bed is doing it too at some point? I may be misremembering that. I’ve noticed that nobody will do a specific movie for a while, and then all of a sudden, everybody is doing it. That happened with The Big Lebowski last year. But somebody always has to go first, and if you find the right project that nobody else has touched, something that really strikes an unexpected chord, that could be a gold mine commercially.
