And he was Parker in "Alien".

First saw this in the early 80's when I was 7 or 8. It's super cheesy today but back then this was a ground breaking movie. Yaphet Kotto and Roger Moore became instant legends to me.

@David Brown: Oh yes! You’re absolutely right! My mistake. “The Living Daylights” and “License to Kill”

Paulo_Maximus

Unfortunately, Dalton only did 2.

Yaphet Kotto was also in the Running Man with Arnold S. It's not a masterpiece but a goofy, fun action flick.

Roger Moore was the James Bond that I grew up with and his era as Bond was pretty silly and over the top. But, it never took itself too seriously like the Daniel Craig era. It was always fun and very tongue in cheek. And, although I know he isn't everybody's cup of tea, he's still my favorite James Bond. "For Your Eye's Only", is still one of my favorite Bond films, and I believe Roger Moore's best as 007.

Roger Moore! Yaphet Kotto! Jane Seymour! Paul McCartney! This is some kind of high point of 70s cool. I don't know if it's the first Bond I ever saw, but it's definitely the first I remember seeing. Great to see you discover it.

Jon Anderson

@CelesteMcAllister You know what? I agree. I think Roger Moore is better than Sean Connery as Bond. Personal opinion and preference of course. Plus, I remember getting a kick out of Roger Moore and his puns, watching these on VHS in the early 2000s when I was a teenager. Good times, great memories, and now re-living them with JennyPenny and this fine community here. I’m personally stoked as hell for GoldenEye and to see what JennyPenny thinks of Pierce Brosnan Bond. 😁

I think I like Roger Moore as Bondy even more than Sean Connery,he is dashing extremely handsome I'd like to find a movie starring Sean Connery,Michael Caine & Roger Moore, three best friends off camera playing BFF's on screen! 😀'The Man who Would be King' 1975 has Sean & Michael but no Roger...

Celeste McAllister

Moore and Lois Maxwell (Moneypenny) were at Acting School together, they were lifelong friends and worked together previously a few times. Moore was best known as a bond like Simon Templer in The Saint on TV at this point, they wanted him as Bond earlier but he was still contracted to The Persuaders TV show during the Diamonds are Forever production window.

David Robinson

I’m so excited that you’re in the Roger Moore era as Bond. You’re in for a treat. Roger Moore is so suave and very punny and if I’m not mistaken, I think he’s had the most outings as James Bond. Roger Moore 7 times. Sean Connery 6 times (7 if you count “Never Say Never Again” which wasn’t an official Eon Productions Bond movie) Daniel Craig 5 times. Pierce Brosnan: 4 Timothy Dalton: 3 And George Lazenby: 1 My personal favorites are a hard choice between Goldeneye (1995) and Casino Royale (2006)

Paulo_Maximus

I've been watching Bond since the early 70's and I actually noticed something in this movie I had never noticed before. The decks of Tarot cards they use all through the movie have 007 imprinted on the backs in a pattern, I can't believe I never seen that before lol.

Jenny Penny your action movie instincts are uncanny. You knew how dude got his arm taken by a croc and you predicted Bond running on the crocs to escape, pure genius, keep up the Bond-tastic work.
