What’s the antidote

The answer is in THE SWEET BREATH--- not just the breath, but attention to the breath.

The yummy practice of attention offers space to slow the inhale down and witness every bit of air arrive and fill the space of our being and then to fully experience the exhale***the-second-by-second feeling of becoming-empty. Then witnessing what it is to begin again ***and to be just as in awe of the next breath, and the next breath, and the next.

There is a  grace to reducing the tempo of the breath. It reminds me that it’s possible to do the same with my entire body, that it’s possible to feel totally full because of attention, that the hustle and scramble aren’t ultimately what fills me. There’s nothing to prove in the breath; there’s nothing to produce. And  yet it’s the very thing that sustains us. I can’t think of a greater clarity than that
