OHHHH BOY.
Well.
I watched it.
I think you will see by the extended opening how nervous I was, and by the short ending how much I wanted it to be over lol. I was pretty amused editing it how dramatic I was.
My camera died in the middle + I had to take a break but I was very glad for that.
Definitely will never watch that one again lol!

I liked watching the movie along wtih you. Good reaction. I felt for you with your discomfort. he movie was a big deal and part of our culture. Ellen Burstyn is awesome. Linda Blair did well. Lee. J. Cobb will always be that guy in 12 Angry Men (1957) to me. When I watched this movie as a teenager in the 1970s, didn't scare me because didn't believe it.

2024-10-07 20:22:33 +0000 UTCI understand Miles & I appreciate your concern. Please know I'll never watch anything that crosses a line & I'm a very confident person in my own boundaries. This one was disturbing yes, and I didn't enjoy it but in the end it makes for a very visceral reaction that some people will connect with and others won't.

2022-10-11 00:21:17 +0000 UTCI’m truly saddened by your reaction to “The Exorcist”. Not that you didn’t like it. That you didn’t just stop watching it. I don’t want this to come across as any kind of lecture or “I told you so.” I think a number of us were leery of you watching it in the first place, and did express our uneasiness of what it would do to you. This is a problem when content becomes poll-driven. The creators think they are locked into watching whatever wins. And it honestly shouldn’t be like that. Polls can give you some ideas of what to watch, but the decision on what to watch should be what you’re comfortable with. I’ve seen a creator run a poll and then begin watching the winner. However, after about 45 minutes he knew the movie wasn’t for him. Realizing this, and realizing that if he continued the reaction video would suffer, he decided to end it. He later made a post apologizing for not putting together a reaction video for the movie, but honestly I’d rather that than subject him to absolute torture for however long the movie was and however long it took to edit the reaction. The same with this movie. Many of us understand, somewhat, your sensibilities and what you would find enjoyable, i.e. explosions, love stories, romances, comedies, etc. I know *I* didn’t enjoy seeing your reactions on this one. Because I could see your uneasiness and pain. Lots of us did. Please don’t ever do it again. Don’t grimly soldier on with a movie watch simply because it won a poll.

2022-10-04 00:55:27 +0000 UTCWell I finally had a chance to sit down and watch this reaction, and I gotta say I don't think I've ever seen anyone so uncomfortable while watching a movie. Heh. I actually felt bad and if I was watching with someone that was being that uncomfortable I probably would've turned it off and watched something else. But credit to you for powering through. I've seen this movie well over 30 times, but I just love the story and how it's told. I'm not a huge fan of horror, or at least stuff that is just mindless gore or cheap shock value, but if the story is intriguing, a dark or spooky setting/atmosphere can really make things great. Whatever other scary movies you have lined up, if you can handle The Exorcist, I think you should be ok. Hopefully we're not responsible for any future therapy sessions you may need.
