Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) Full Length Reaction

Germany has declared war on the Jones boys.

I had such a blast wrapping up the original trilogy with Harrison, Spielberg + Williams plus my first time watching Sean Connery! Loved the father-son chemistry between Indy + his dad and this was such a fun adventure!!

Are the newer Indiana Jones movies worth checking out?

Thanks for watching this awesome trilogy with me! 😊

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: MattN, Todd Preble, CBonius, Tyler Gorash, Ed Dunn, Incognito, John Walters, JT, Noby + those who wish to remain uncredited :)

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) Full Length Reaction

Comments

Another trilogy completed! Although I've never been a big big fan of the Indie films, much past my childhood. They are great fun popcorn flicks and one can have a lot of fun in watching.

Lol whoops

Just got around to watching this. Very entertaining reaction. Also I'm sorry, but I just had to laugh at the beginning when you didn't realize that was a young Indy even after his friend called him Indy/Indiana like 5 times. "Indy! Indy! Indiana!"... Jen: Who is this kid?... Heh. Also Indiana and his father are not immortal. The price of immortality was staying there with the grail. That's why the other 2 brothers of the knight eventually died of extreme old age after walking out of the desert.

Oh and yes I was cracking up over the Willy reference you made in this one too! Hahaha!

Yeah! You guys are speaking truth! And yeah I hope she works her way through the original bond movies. That would be an absolute blast. Cold war bond at its best. There’s nothing else like it.

The opening part of this film showing Indy's origin story is a brilliant piece of movie making on the part of both Spielberg and John Williams. The Indy theme is heard four times during that section. The first time is when Indy grabs the whip in the lion car, the second time is when he escapes the magic box and is running away, the fourth time is when the guy (the character is credited as "Fedora") puts the hat on Indy's head and the scene transitions to adult Indy. The third time is a lot easier to miss but has huge repercussions later in the movie. As Indy enters the house and walks past the dog it looks up at Indy and the theme song is quickly played; this a subtle foreshadowing that the dog is actually the true Indiana. As MattN already pointed out the dog literally is Indiana.

Some fun trivia Jen! Indiana is actually the name of George Lucas' dog, an Alaskan Malamute, and Willie(from temple of doom) is actually the name of Steven Spielberg's dog!

MattN

I am with you Jeremy! It is very easy to hate and throw shade at a movie, but it is much more difficult to say you like a film because then you actually need to stand up for it. Is Crystal Skill my favorite? Absolutely not.... but it's a fun movie and honestly... if it has Indiana Jones in it I am in!

MattN

I didn’t exactly grow up with the franchise, I was in my mid 20’s when the first one came out, but I agree with you completely, Jeremy. While there are some valid criticisms of the Crystal Skull there is also a lot of nitpicking. Admittedly it is not a great movie, but it is still a fun Indiana Jones adventure. And I may be in the minority here but I liked it better than the Temple of Doom, which I did not and still do not like very much. I found the lead female character, as Dr. Jones Sr. might put it, intolerable. Jen, I see that you are watching Dr. No at some point. As this is the first Bond movie it got me wondering if you are planning to work your way through the whole series. I’m a big Bond fan so I sort of hope you do even though there are 26 Bond movies to date and they are not all good. Still, I feel even the not so great ones are worth a watch.

Daniel Goldberg

100% agree Jeremy. Is Crystal Skull as good as the originals? No. Is it still a fun adventure movie with Harrison Ford? Definitely. Plus it has a bonus surprise that you'll like a lot Jen. I say save it for a rainy day, I'm confident you'll still enjoy it.

Paul G

People will tell you not to watch the Crystal Skull but these are folks who grew up with this franchise, so we nitpick. Me? I say good or ok Indy is better than no Indy at all. Besides I've seen other reactors watch it and say they had fun with it and thought is was very enjoyable. I'd like to see where it stands with you and Temple of Doom.
