2022-07-12 12:54:49 +0000 UTCI totally agree with you on this. Same goes for Heat and Apocalypse Now-Redux. Superman 2 Donner Cut is in my top 20 all time 15/10. Superman 2 Richard Lester cut 5/10. Didn't Jen watch the LOTR extended cuts and not the theatre releases? I think we should have a poll on which version some films are watched. Just a thought.

2022-07-11 22:33:56 +0000 UTCJust because a theatrical cut exists, doesn’t mean that’s the version that’s beloved. Or that’s the version that made the film a classic. If you ever watch Blade Runner, for the love of God, do not watch the theatrical cut! When Blade runner originally came out, it was a massive flop! Only when alternate cuts and the directors cut came out, that it took its place as a revered classic. If you ever do Blade Runner, do not do the theatrical cut. The directors, the actors, and the fans hate it. The Final Cut, is the definitive version of the film. This is how you should introduce yourself to that film. As the director envisioned. And the cut that helped make the film a beloved and revered classic.
