✨This was a request from my Top Tier patron Tyler - Thank you Tyler! ✨

Assault with a gun, and a bourbon, and a sports car

Another Hitchcock on the books! Murder at the UN, passionate affairs on a train, secret identities, teeny tiny guns, the CIA, a hilarious drunk Cary Grant, planes exploding and a showdown on Mount Rushmore!

Thanks for hanging out and watching with me!

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: MattN, Todd Preble, CBonius, Tyler Gorash, Ed Dunn, Incognito, John Walters, JT, Noby + those who wish to remain uncredited :)

North By Northwest (1959) Full Length Reaction

Comments

Ya I agree, the pacing wasn't as tight as Psycho or Rear Window for sure on this one. I enjoyed the ending tho!

Jen M

I'd not seen this one before. I was really into it in the beginning. But then it started to lose me somewhere in the middle. Perhaps because I had my Sunday afternoon sleepy head on and was fighting back that Grandad nap vibes that can often take me over. I hope that Rope finds it's way on the rosta at some point. But some of the others already mentioned might be fun to check out as well.

Daryl

I'm definitely curious about Shadow of a Doubt, seeing as it's Hitchcock's fav!!

Jen M

Vertigo gets a lot of notice. It is a technicolor masterpiece. But Shadow Of A Doubt to me is a much more suspenseful and busy story. A great slice of small town American life and Hitchcock’s cited fave. I do think it tends to be overlooked, probably because it’s in black & white. But I watch it at least once a year…🫣

Doubting Thomas

Haven't seen those but they're on my list 👍

Jen M

Jen, if you haven't see them already, I would love to see reactions to The Man Who Knew Too Much and Vertigo.

Ron

Definitely! I agree!

Jen M

Great pic! I know these older classics may not get the views more contemporary movies do, but I think still think it’s worthwhile to react some of these older classics from time to time. Makes for a more well rounded cinematic journey.

You should do The Birds another great Hitchcock movie

Jimmy C

Okay, you’ve done Rear Window and North by Northwest But when you said, “If you guys have any more Hitchcock movies you think I should check out….” Indeed I do! “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1956). Jimmy Stewart, Doris Day. This movie introduced the song “Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que sera, sera)” sung by Doris Day. (It won an Oscar for Best Song at the 29th Academy Awards) It’s an integral part of the plot. This YouTube shows her performing it in clips from The Man Who Knew Too Much. https://youtu.be/xZbKHDPPrrc 🤞

Ya this was a great pick! 👌

Thank you Jen and Tyler! This is my other favourite Hitchcock movie (along with Rear Window)!
