Question about The Mandalorian

Hey guys, quick question-- will I need subtitles for any dialogue in The Mandalorian?

So hard to look anything up without spoiling ๐Ÿ˜†

Really excited to watch this!! ๐Ÿ‘

Comments

I actually use subtitles in most everything I watch. Sometimes the characters talk in such a low voice and you miss out on things

Rick Trujillo

Thanks guys! ๐Ÿ‘

Jen M

No subtitles needed.

David Crabtree

I just finished Rebels, and half way into season 1 of Clone Wars. Then I'm on to Bad Batch. So far I'm loving the animated shows...I only realized Clone Wars was before Rebels after I started CW ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Ronny Boss

As above, no subtitled needed! I'll be honest and say I never watched all of the Clone Wars or Rebels, but I'm familiar with them a bit. Definitely don't need to watch them to get the main drive of the Mandalorian, just helps provide some background details - and really hyped up a few fans of those shows :)

It helps in season 2 with characters like Ashoka, Bo Katan, Death Watch etc. but yea, just more nerd lore (that I personally love). Jen's reaction to A New Hope is what brought me to her channel in the first place so I'm all in lol

Ed Dunn

I vote for no subs. They do have them in the episode when someone isn't speaking English, which isn't too often

Ronny Boss

Thanks Ed I appreciate that! I'm excited to hang around in the Star Wars Universe a bit longer ๐Ÿ‘

Jen M

Watching the cartoons isn't a big deal. if you haven't watched them you won't have any issues of not knowing what's going on in it. There are a lot of small Easter eggs from them, but nothing important.

Ronny Boss

Rogue One makes A New Hope much better. The little detail I love about it is that in a New Hope when Tarkin and the other officers are taking with Vader, there is an empty chair at the table. That chair would've been for Krennic, so somebody paid attention to detail. Mandalorian is awesome, you don't need to watch all that other nerdy stuff, we'll help you put together the gaps

Ed Dunn

Cool, thanks! ๐Ÿ‘

Jen M

Nice, thanks guys!

Jen M

Fair enough ๐Ÿ‘

Jen M

I watched it with subtitles turned off and any non-English (i.e. completely fictional language) dialogue was subbed.

Mike Yocom

Watched Rogue One. Lol I dunno man, you guys picked it in the poll ๐Ÿคท

Jen M

Yes, I debated this response. Wasn't sure if the subs were flim in or not.

Todd Preble

I don't recall needing to turn on the closed captioning to understand any of the dialogue, at least for this American from SoCal.

Ian Cano

I like this fun fact ๐Ÿ‘

Jen M

Yes, there are the occasional and various Star Wars universe foreign languages spoken. Most of it is in english like most Star Wars dialog. Fun fact, in Star Wars the english language is called "Basic" since of course England does not exist in a galaxy far far away. :) Edit: Based on the consensus, appears I am incorrect about needing subtitles.

Todd Preble

No. Everything is hard subbed. Guess you watched all clone wars, star wars rebels and Rogue One guest right!? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ed Dunn

I personally believe you should watch everything with subtitles. I just miss waaaaay too much if I donโ€™t. Lol
