Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) Full Length Reaction

💬 We will watch your career with great interest.

I'm SO excited to start the Prequels!! Darth Vader is one of my favourite characters in the original trilogy so I NEED to know his origin story!

Thanks for hanging out and watching along with me!

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: Baldielox, Todd Preble, CBonius, MattN, Ronny Boss, Tyler Gorash, Ed Dunn

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) Full Length Reaction

Natalie Portman and her double Sabè played by Keira Knightley looked so much alike in their costumes that Keira’s own mother couldn’t tell them apart when she visited the set.

Awesome reaction Jennifer! Wow, I didn't know this movie made over $2,000,000,000 billion dollars!

Mr. Nobody

True about the cracks but still some good fun in this one! I'm glad you enjoyed watching along with me 😊

I definitely disliked the prequels when they came out (not to the extent of some other folk), but now they are quite comfy. I can see the heart behind them, even if they miss the mark in several places. Interesting that you mention missing the practical effects (a common complaint that caused Disney to try and put in several practical effects to appease fans in the Sequels). The prequels are loaded with practical effects, there's just a great deal of CGI being used too (and often jarringly or ineffectively). People often talk about the CGI ruining these films, but I think if the story/pace is lacking, people just notice the cracks behind the scenes a bit more. Fun to watch along with you, at any rate!

Thanks Matt! I enjoyed Episode 2 and especially Episode 3 and just glad to be spending a bit more time in the Star Wars Universe! 👍

Jen M

Awesome reaction Jen! I am very happy that you are reacting to these movies in spite of people's aversion to them. They are not my favorite either, but like you said, you can always find something good in the movies. Plus, while I enjoyed the "crew" in the original trilogy, as you so aptly named them, I am also interested in the universe building. Again, great job on the reaction! And I look forward to seeing more in the future!

LOLLLL 😆 That sounds like a spin off, a cross between Star Wars and Three Men and a Baby lol wacky

Jen M

Sounds fun! 👍

"How young do Jedis start training?" Basically as soon as they're potty trained. Jedi masters changing diapers is not the will of the Force, just ask them.

We did a marathon where we watched all 3 lotr extended while breaking it up into the various hobbit meals. We made certificates that we completed it. Super fun

"If you build it they will come" - field of dreams

Owe.... fan-dabby-dozy! (That one's not a ref, just an old 80's British catchphrase... They creep out from time to time. 🤣) We will keep that particular recommendation in Mr old back pocket for a future suggestion. 😁

Daryl

I have heard this phrase but I don't know which movie it's from!

Jen M

If you watch it, they will come.... Basically if there's a desire for it from the group, then why not. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I phrased it that way, to see if you know, have seen and or can confirm the reference. 😁

Daryl

Lol! 😆 I have never seen the extended editions of LOTR, I would really love to! I haven't seen the originals in years either actually. I wonder if it would be good to react to the extended editions at some point... 🤷

Jen M

Oh, I've still got plenty of catching up to do yet. Foourrr Hoours on Sunday I spent watching the extended addition of Return of the King. That's another journey I do love for reactions. Still, when I get there, I am looking forward to hearing what you thought. I'll get there eventually. They'll be ok with me watching reactions at work..... right? ;)

Daryl

100% watching this when I get home! Remember watching this twice in the theater. Have a great week 😀
