Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Full Length Reaction

I loved this movie!!

The gang is back + cooler than ever! Crazy reveals (why wouldn't Ben warn Luke?!?!?) + romance (yay Han + Leia!) = me totally loving this movie! :)

Can't wait to see the next one -- Han needs to be rescued + I wonder if Darth Vader will show down with Luke?! So stay tuned for Ep VI - Return of the Jedi, which I will NEED to do very soon!

Still working on the lighting for nighttime reactions & also I injured my back this week so I might be a bit more fidgety than usual lol. Thanks for bearing with me.

Thank you for watching along with me! :)

Just started the watch, but had to say you're going to give me a heart attack with that light/vase sitting on the edge of your dresser, LOL

Tobiah Vega

Oh yes I would love to!

The Jurassic Park theme song gets me every time! idk about the rest of the group but I'd love to see you react to the Indy series, even if you have seen the first one!

Ohhhh you're right about R2D2, he's so underrated for his helpfulness! Good call, he's def a low key mvp :) I'm glad you enjoyed my swooning over the love-- I'm so happy there's a love story at the heart of this saga! Omg yes I love John Williams so much. He is responsible for the heart swelling moments in SO many movies. Jurassic Park is another amazing score that always gives me goosebumps! I saw the first Indiana when I was a really little kid so I barely remember it, and I haven't seen the rest of the series. I definitely want to! I'm up for anything with Harrison :) I'm so excited for Episode VI!!

Awesome reaction Jen! I love this movie, but my fav is definitely the next. It's so much fun, and I don't want to spoil it but my favorite species is introduced in the next movie. I totally agree with Han being the MVP and while I respect giving Luke the low key mvp, if it were me I'd give it to R2D2 because they always come up clutch every time while also being kind of sassy which I appreciate :D Your love of love really made the reaction for me! I enjoyed that. Also, you brought up the music a few times. John Williams is, hands down, my favorite composer of all time. I know it's kind of a softball answer but his songs are ubiquitous, no matter what you like or movies you watch. If you play the raiders theme, jaws theme, the star wars theme... you know exactly where that came from. And, it just defines the movies their in. Imagine Jaws without the duuu dun! duu dun! Or Darth Vader without the imperial march. A movie with a John Williams score elevates to an entirely new level! In my opinion of course! :) It also made me chuckle how you love Harrison so much while also hating snakes, like Indiana? :D Awesome job Jen and I am very excited for episode 6!

Oh thank you I was hoping I wasn't messing up Han's name too badly lol! That's surprising of the effects are original, they looked great!! That makes sense about Mark Hamill, I did notice he looked different, it's cool they found a way for it to make sense in the story. Thank you for all the info, I love learning more about the movies I watch! :)

Considered one of the greatest sequels (and even greatest movies) of all time. It takes all the great things about episode 4, but narrows the scope down to the personal. Still has an impact on me today! Mark Hamill had an accident near the end of filming for Episode 4, so they had the "snowman" scene here to help explain why he looks a bit different. 99% of the effects in episode 5 are original, they didn't really update anything (except to tidy some stuff up). There's some extra backgrounds and windows in Cloud City that weren't there originally too, otherwise - the 1980 experience all the way :) The Imperial Walkers were stop-motion, good spotting. Yoda kinda is a muppet - Jim Henson was consulted, but the main job was given to Frank Oz, a close collaborator of his. Don't worry about the pronunciation, even Lucas isn't consistent on it! Just pick whichever works for you, no-one's gonna come for you :D

oh yay! I am really looking forward to this!
