Alien (1979) Full Length Reaction

Join me as I discover the terror of a horror movie set in space! (Although I know some people say a "horror" can't be set in space and that makes it just a "sci fi". Thoughts?)
Although the tech is obviously dated I thought the effects looked good I was actually scared! The pace is deliberately slow in the beginning to build the tension and I was definitely tense throughout.
Overall I thought it was great and I'm pumped to see Aliens next!

When Parker was talking about how big the alien was and you asked, "How does he know?" ... in the Director's Cut, the scene of the alien grabbing Brett is a little longer. You see Parker and Ripley run into the room and look up at the alien carrying Brett away into the cooling towers.
