VIC-20 Repair-a-thon

This is a very special video to me because I was finally prepared and equipped to go back to my first vintage computer and the first project I ever tried to record to make a video of. A Commodore VIC-20 that I got for $30 nearly 8 years ago that was dead as soon as I took it out of the box. It's been eating away at me for years I could never fix it, but the stars aligned for this video to give it one more shot...because I'm also taking a look at two other VIC-20s at the same time! All three ended up needing repaired and in very different ways, and while I don't have a solution for everything I discovered, I'm at least very happy with the results of this one!

Assuming the ROM is the same 23xx type used in a Pet then you can use a 25xx EPROM without an adapter. I use a Promenade burner on a C128 to burn Pet ROMs and it works great. It's awesome to see your first machine run again.
