Sneak Peek: Philip CM-100, the First CD-ROM Drive

The thing I mentioned would be coming soon in the last sneak peek and oh man I don't know if I've ever been more excited for something. This is the first CD-ROM drive released to consumers a Philips CM-100. I still need to get a few things so I can use it but as soon as I am physically able to, I'm going to be making a full video about this thing because it's just so awesome!

I also want to say thank you because this is now the second most expensive vintage computer part I've ever bought and it may not have happened without the support from everyone here. So sincerely, thank you.

Oops, yeah you're right. I was typing quickly and it's only for patrons so I'll probably just leave it. But thanks for the heads up!

I've seen some of those on ebay and read about them. But I think they are all internal controllers, and there does seem to be a difference. I think I have a solution in the works, but it's going to take a little while to get everything ready to try.

Heads up, minor typo in the title. Should be Philips, not Philip

Supposedly some sound cards, like the Pro AudioSpectrum (I think) had an LMSI CD-ROM interface on it. So, maybe that could be an option?
