SPOILER ALERT! - If you have not watched the show before, don't read the following review until you have! :)

So I don't know if it shows, but I was a little down and low energy before recording this episode because of life stuff, that bloomin' bird definitely woke me up!! XD

Awesome episode, what a different side of the Earth Kingdom (and incredibly, the Water Tribe)!

Very interested to meet this new mystery character (and of course her.. flying pig?)!

Hope you had a great week, guys!!

Don't focus too much on the color of clothes. Sometimes it doesn't match up. Like in the Kyoshi Island episode it featured earth kingdom citizens wearing blue. Song also wore red despite being Earth Kingdom as well. It's pretty interesting lore wise, the swamp benders wear green because their clothing are fashioned from the plants around them.

I hope you are well Veg! Real life is extremely hard, I hope things look up!!

I love whenever the groups diverge and inevitably meet up again. Crossing a few times to finally converge.

I like that this episode introduces more complexity and nuance into this world without completely spoon-feeding them to us. The bending styles have been discussed in the comments already, but also you have water benders from a swamp in the earth kingdom far from any tundra, suggesting possible migration. I can totally imagine some ancient water tribe ppl journeying far from home for whatever reason, finding the swamp, and just choosing to stay there. They certainly have the upper hand against any earth benders who might take issue with them, and with so little dry land, a swamp is hardly prime real estate for earth benders anyway. The water benders probably wouldn’t venture far from the swamp for too long themselves, and so now we have a little isolated culture all its own.
