Wow, this one really surprised me! I find Jet adn the gang very interesting, and almost hard to give an opinion on, when it comes to their actions!
Loving the save by Sokka! That ending gave me massive dread! Sadly, the cabbages weren't as lucky...

2025-07-25 00:31:49 +0000 UTCIn my humble opinion you have to watch the movie, Veggie :) It's a rite of passage that we all have to go through :) It would be a good idea to watch it right after the Book 1 finale, as the movie only covers the first season :) And then you have time to really appreciate Avatar for the rest of the series, lol

It's been a long time since my last rewatch so the order of things is a little scrambled lol. I usually skip the next few episodes during reactions and rewatches, but it'd be fun seeing what you think of them.

2025-07-20 17:26:41 +0000 UTCI love the design of the Jets Gang and their HQ, it gives me a Lost Boys coded Prince of Thieves I would make the argument, that Jet is a bad person in this episode. His trauma and reasoning is understandable, but his actions are unforgivable! And this is one of the things, that make this show so great. We have horrible actions on all sides of the conflict. We have "bad" poeple, who's reasoning for their actions are understandable. And we have normal people trying to live their lives on both sides. The only thing the villagers have "done wrong" is they happened to be born into the fire nation. But they were just people tilling the land, fishing the river, trading their goods... Now, there is always danger when people don't speak out on the actions of the few. And in a country that has been the agressor in a 100 year long war there will have been some heavy indoctrination going on - both of which are really bad and dangerous, and both are thematized by the show. But we're talking about a mideval-esque feudal state sort of area here. Those kind of villagers should not be held accountable or even punished for the war and the nations action! You cannot right one wrong with another wrong!

2025-07-20 16:52:05 +0000 UTCI am honestly so excited for the next episode, its the lowest rated in the entire show I believe, I usually skip it on a rewatch alone, but I can't wait to see how you feel about the lowest point and if you think it deserves the title worst episode. Also the following episode is probably my favorite from season 1. So excited!
