We are FINALLY back to Buffy! So sorry about the wait on this, we had a bunch of Angels to get through as well as me missing a week.

But good news, Buffy fans! We will have a group of 6 episodes back to back in a few weeks! :)

I am so annoyed at Xander at the end of this one. I probably shouldn't, but it doesn't feel right (so I basically feel the exact opposite of Willow XD).

Very cleverly done episode! Genuinely upsetting in places, but also hilarious with Buffy trying to manage everything. XD

Hope you guys are having a great week!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

This is an episode that I just don't like. It's been clear for a while that Xander has second thoughts about getting married, and he should have already talked to Anya about that. However, people in relationships in Buffy don't really ever talk to their partners about things. They always just let things go to the last minute and blow up. It does show how much his traumatic family life has affected his adult life, but I hate how the show just ignores all of that 99% of the time and brings it up just to ruin things. As someone who suffered from a traumatic childhood, at 39 it is a huge driver of my personality to this day. However, it can be seen in A LOT of my life, not just the 1% where it is a nice bow to ruin things. What is super sad to me is that Xander thinks of himself of being that horrible of a husband/dad in the future. He's become such a contributor, great friend, great supporter, etc., but he doesn't see that.

I feel sorry for both of them. I agree that Xander should have talked to Anya about his worries before the wedding day but I'm not convinced that she would have either listened or understood. I also think that Xander ploughed on thinking things would work out once the wedding was over and I like to think that would have been the case if not for the actions of his abysmal father and Anya's demon. The part at the end with Anya walking up the aisle on her own is the most unrealistic part of the whole episode in my view as I'm pretty sure that in real life it would have been left to one of the officials to tell the guests.
