SPOILER ALERT! - If you have not watched the show before, don't read the following review until you have! :)

WHAT an episode! I really enjoyed the first one, but this one has be SUPER hyped for the show!!

We really see a new side to Sukka here! He is definitely one of my absolute favourite characters already, though Katara is brilliant too (just not that great at Waterbending.. yet. XD).

I loved the fight/escape between Aang & Zuko! I can't imagine this is the last time they will face off!

Hope you had a great week, guys!!

Awesome reacting, very engaged and cant wait for you to see the rest of the show! Please could you do 2 episodes at a time, for the multi part episodes at least? :)

I really love seeing this. Its one of the best show ever made, and youre so ingaged while whatching eith youre notepad, and yeah youre the defenition of what a propper reaction video should look like. but could i suggest doing 2 episodes at a time that way the flow is better espessaly with two parters like that one?

I wouldn't say any particular element has a distinct advantage over another. It depends more on the bender's fighting style, knowledge, and the environment they are operating in. Firebenders are the only ones that can create their element, but fire can only exists where there is oxygen to burn. Therefore, firebenders have very similar restrictions to airbenders. Firebenders can't move objects with their element as easily as airbenders but fire is certainly a more deadly element to wield in most cases. Trust me when I say that these types of discussions will come up in the show and in the comments quite often.

Hey Veggie, so glad to see you're back with the second episode. Looking forward to your insights in future episodes. This show is one of the rare few that can be just as entertaining and interseting to both children as well as adults. The themes and lessons are ones that I hope will stay with anyone who watches. Take care and see you next time :)

First two elemental groups easy to remember because on what they are based. WATER TRIBE - mostly inuit. But also other indigenous tribes. These better shown when you meet water tribes in warm and humid climate. 2. AIR NOMADS - Tibet and Nepal. In the show exclusively monks. 3. FIRE NATION - Imperial Japan. More confusing because armory has Mongol or Tatars traits as well. 4. EARTH KINGDOM - Ancient China and South-Asian countries.

Attack on Titan mention!!! πŸ˜‚ There's actually a great video comparing AoT and AtLA called "Avatar on Titan: When East Meets West" on YouTube, but it has FULL SPOILERS for both series in case anyone wants to check it out. I love how the village scene depicts the characters. Sokka trying to defend his people against insurmountable odds, Aang putting others before himself, and like you said Zuko showing honor despite being the bad guy. Oh and I forgot to say last time, if I was to choose an element I'd pick earth. :)

Might I suggest uploading 2 episodes at a time? I think that might help release times and free up more time for you on other projects. Especially since they're only 20 minute episodes.

When this show came out they aired episode 1 & 2 together. I immediately gravitated to Katara; she was the same age as me- roughly 14. Now I’m in my 30s, and this is still one of my favorite shows of all time πŸ’œ

My only experience with Avatar before (besides the unrelated James Cameron overhyped blue people film) is the Xbox 360 game where you could get all 1000 gamerscore (achievements) in the first five minutes by button mashing XD Looking forward to discovering more, seems good so far! I think I might know the name of the character people are excited for you to meet, but I could be wrong. BTW whenever you say "Terra" I keep thinking at first you mean Tara from Buffy XD

This episode aired right after the first one, so it is basically the second part of a two parter; that also means this intro was not included. Katara finds out this episode that Aang is the Avatar but says "my brother and I discovered the new avatar" in the intro, which would technically be a spoiler. Glad you're enjoying it! Like many others, this show helped shape my childhood and means a lot to me. It has a lot of important lessons for both children and adults.

I love this episode. I think it shows really well how Aang might be very childish but how he knows what he's doing airbending wiseπŸ™‚

I need everyone to remember that Veggie said β€œZuko seems weirdly honorable.” In episode TWO!!!!!!

You're doing so well with the names Veggie! But it's Sokka (SOCK-A for us Brits), just sounds that way because of their accent 😊 so glad you're enjoying it so far, the music is one of the best parts of this show as well 😁

Rey's Got Plans

I'm so glad you're getting into the show! I love hearing you already thinking about the various elements and how they work. The world-building with the elements is one of my favourite parts of the show!

Sab

This show is great at using real life physics to explain and enhance it's "magic" system, so that's something to keep in mind when thinking about the possibilities of bending. Keeping that in mind: a bit of air will fuel a fire, a lot of air will put it out! I love that you already pointed out the different fighting styles of Zuko and Aang. For one, yes they have very different personalities and in that moment very different goals, which obviously will fuel a different type of action. But the 4 different bending styles is also based on real life martial arts. Air bending uses Baguazhang (focusing on circular movements and spinning) and fire bending uses northern shaolin (very dynamic with powerful limb movements). This won't spoil anything, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. Water bending uses Tai Chi (focusing on breathing and fluid movements) and earth is Hung Gar (a grounded style with strong stances). Obviously you havn't met anyone of the earth kingdom yet, but even with the few characters yet (and 3 nations represented) it is very obvious that the 4 nations are also based on 4 real life peoples in our world. Which is something I absolutely adore about this world building.

Also, I'm pretty sure the game with figures you were referring to is Battle Beasts! My uncle used to collect them

Hi Veggie, I know I haven't postet in a long time. I've just been very busy and haven't really come around. But I just wantet to say that I am very exited for your Avatar reactions. I absolutely love the show. Also some extra information that I think is amazing (copied from Google): In Avatar: The Last Airbender, the four elemental bending styles are inspired by traditional Chinese martial arts. Waterbending is based on Tai Chi, known for its flowing, soft movements and focus on alignment. Earthbending is inspired by Hung Gar, a Southern Chinese Kung Fu style known for its strong stances and dynamic movements. Firebending draws from Northern Shaolin, a dynamic style with powerful hand and leg movements. Finally, Airbending is based on Baguazhang, characterized by circular movements and spinning. As someone who does martial arts I think this is absolutely brilliant and contributes so much to the world.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the show and it only gets better. I can already think of some episodes I'm looking forward to you seeing!

Steven

Technically fire is the only bending element that's created. Air is just everywhere so it may as well be created, but Aang is just using the air around him.

Xeph

I love hearing your thoughts on the different elements! Especially that you've clocked early on the advantage of elements that can be produced rather than needing to be present to be bent. And I think the show does an awesome job of showing how the culture of each nation is influenced by its bending style.

Imagine Nat

Air nomads, water tribe, fire nation and the earth kingdom. Appa is adorable, i hope you get yourself an Appa plushie, I love mine. Im so excited for you going on this journey I love your reactions.

Cari Ann
