I. WAS. ONLY. JOKING!!!
Haha, this was such a bizarre ep! Like no other Angel episode so far! But I have to admit, it gives it a really cool 'fish out of water' feel to it!
Angel was mega moody Angel first half, then became ultra happy Angel! XD Got to love to see it!
I am very intregued to learn what is going on here, and more about this world! This seems like a unique way to round a season off!
Hope you guys are having a great week!
As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to download it first. This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

It’s Lorne, like the sausage not Lauren. I love episodes with him so I’m glad this episode arc has more of him than we usually get.

2024-10-13 21:04:01 +0000 UTCAs much as I love the dark and heavy stuff in this show, these last few episodes are so much fun. Angel as a show is incredibly dynamic, constantly evolving and changing things up, which is one of the reasons I prefer it to Buffy, especially as we get into the latter seasons. Unfortunately, I'm not really a fan of Buffy 6/7- though there are some great individual episodes to come, I find the seasons as a whole pretty boring and tedious and I rarely rewatch them. Angel always felt much more ambitious in what it's going for, taking wild swings like this season's final episodes. It's also fascinating to look at the different paces of the two shows. When you compare how much has happened between Buffy S5 and Angel S2 for example, Angel has a comparatively break-neck pace that never really goes away, while Buffy seems to slow down more as it goes along.

2024-10-13 20:36:24 +0000 UTCYou're right. This is the most un-Angel story arc. It's good to have seen Wizard of Oz before this, although not entirely necessary. Although during season 2, while the "dark Angel" arc was playing out and they needed to switch it up, Joss is reported to have said he wanted to go to Oz. One thing about the Angel series is that it never stays the same for very long. If you reach a certain part you don't like, it should be known that it will change soon enough. The scenery and sets also reminded me of Xena/Hercules. But those were filmed in New Zealand. The Pylea episodes were filmed at Paramount studios, with the outdoor scenes being somewhere local.

2024-10-13 19:46:10 +0000 UTCI've never seen Xena, but it always reminds me of a girl I played softball with with Xena was big. Her name was Sena, and one year the banner for our team came with Xena instead. She would have been nine or ten at the time and wasn't thrown by it all. This isn't a favorite of mine. I don't really like the episodes that are completely out there, so it's no surprise that I'm not a fan. Angel is fun in it, but that's about the only positive.

2024-10-13 18:33:32 +0000 UTCFor the Host, it's Krevlorne Swath of the Death'wa Clan. Lorne rhymes with horn, Krev rhymes with the first syllable in levity, and wa rhymes with la.
