####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######

Haha, this was great! It felt a little chaotic with all the different story points, but it was a great watch!
Any episode that has this much Host in it, I like! Awesome to finally hear his backstory (and name)!
What a cliff hanger to end on! XD I am guessing either 1) Cordie will be back next episode and it won't get mentioned again, or 2) THIS is the season ending story! XD
Poor Wes (and Cordie and Gunn tbf). I just don't think he will ever get that praise he wants so much from his father. He is trying his best but definitely struggling in the new position.
Hope you guys are having a great week!
As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to download it first. This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

Love Lorne so much, I found out recently that the role was written specifically for Andy Hallett because he was Joss's then wife's assistant and would take them to karaoke bars. There's a lot of him in the character <3

2024-10-09 19:29:35 +0000 UTCGiles has mentioned that his family have been watchers for generations, and we're given to understand this is quite typical. It's not unreasonable to assume that Wesley's father is or was a watcher himself. It's very much set up as a traditional patriarchal institution.

2024-10-08 03:22:35 +0000 UTCI know all about Bonanza and have seen it. It just doesn't seem like an Angel show to me. He also was still very isolated in the 50s and 60s, so I don't see him knowing things just because they were cultural touchpoints.

2024-10-08 00:17:32 +0000 UTCBonanza was a big deal back in the day (1959), if you had a color TV. It was tied in to the RCA company to sell more color TVs which most didn't have back then. Bonanza was the first hr-long scripted TV show on the air. Actually a 30 min. Superman show was the first ever color TV show. But it didn't look quite as good.

2024-10-08 00:03:33 +0000 UTCI think it's hilarious that Angel knows Bonanza because that just doesn't seem like his type of show. These episodes that have fun Angel are great. Also, I agree with you in that more Lorne is amazing. So much fun. As someone who grew up in southern California (not LA but not far) and was a young teen at the time of this show, seeing someone who liked like him would seem that odd. Like the librarian, we likely would have just assumed it was a costume for something. Where I live now, he'd likely stick out more because that type of thing wouldn't be as expected.

2024-10-07 23:22:12 +0000 UTCLove Lorne, he’s such a great character. Angel bought the Hyperion with the money Judy had stolen, given that the hotel had been closed for years, the long list of murders that happened there and the state of disrepair it was in, he would have got it for a steal.

2024-10-07 19:21:15 +0000 UTCCongratulations! You're the first Reactor to recognize anything about "Bonanza"! You even know the theme song!! Lorne Greene was the star for 15 years. He went on to star in the original "Battlestar Galactica".

2024-10-07 19:19:49 +0000 UTCThis is a favorite Lorne episode! Andy Hallett 💗 And yes, very ironic that the episode is called Belonging and yet everyone is feeling out place or having their positions questioned / undermined.

2024-10-07 17:44:54 +0000 UTCThe heartbreaking thing about the director in this episode is that Charisma Carpenter (Cordy) says she's experienced such behaviour in real life :( The host's name is Lorne, by the way. Not Lauren. XD
