Hi guys!! It's that time of the month, and we are back to covering Harry Potter Chapters! And WHAT a pair of chapters to cover!
I loved these! Honestly, the end of Chapter 28 was scary, but not because of what happened, but the REACTION of Dumbledore and Hagrid, as well as Black too! When the people we treat most appear freaked out, you KNOW things are bad!

2024-10-02 18:45:31 +0000 UTCOn the book vs. movie comparison: I definitely believe that it is way wasier to appreciate the movies for what they are and genuinely like them if you've watched them first and only after that read the books. Because this way everything that is added to the books and missing in the movies is a nice surprise instead of a (bitter) disappointment. I personally quite enjoy the movies🙂 (even though I've read the books first), but there are definitely also things I really miss🤔😕

2024-10-01 23:31:29 +0000 UTCThis is my comment to register a desire to have Chapters 32, 33 and 34 done in one video. Chapter 32 is the 2nd shortest of the entire book whilst Chapter 34 is the 6th shortest chapter in the book. For a frame of reference Chapters 30 and 31 combined are 94:30 minutes long. Whilst Chapters 32, 33 and 34 combined are 66 minutes long. It is not only run-time that factors here, these 3 chapters go together, each leads directly into the next with no circumspection or pause. Dividing them would be very odd. This book has 37 chapters. For Prisoner of Azkaban you did the last chapter of that book as a stand alone and combined it with your overall notes for the book. Because of the size and depth of Goblet, that might make that last video on the bigger/longer side. I dunno. It depends on what everyone else thinks, but if you were to do 3 chapters at the end of this book. These are definitely the 3 to choose. There are 199 Chapters in the Harry Potter books, and you've just done the 86th which is extremely impressive and generous. Interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

2024-10-01 16:29:28 +0000 UTC🥹🥹 VEGGIE , no freakin way!! Ahhh that was PERFECT!!!! 👏👏 In the book, there is an illustration of a drunk, brokenhearted Winky. It's quite pitiful. I thought that was “The madness of Mr. Crouch.” the chapter title was referring to. Sacking her and still not taking her back even tho she clearly is still loyal to him and could have used her help if he truly was so sick. Also, him leaving his intern good ole “Weatherby” in charge after only a few months. That's not a swipe at Percy, just a hell of a lot of responsibility to put on him after such a short time. I honestly thought Crouch was indeed “sick” and simply to proud to admit he needed help. I was still quite surprised and extremely unsettled when he turned up at Hogwarts later in the chapter. Again, unbelievably PERFECT answer to my question. Completely made my day!! Can't wait to ask that question again in the future

I felt so bad the last few years when for Halloween I got my Headmaster Gallery up and McGonagall was in there, besides Snape, Dumbledore adn my memorial of Hagrid. Now this year it sadly matches better. I thin it was either "Peter Pan" with Robin Williams as Wendy or"Sister Act" were the ones I realized I had seen her before. She's also done a few Hercule Poirots - like Death on the Nile. In a way it's sad - but she had a wonderful life and a loving family. More sorry for them. I hope we do not get news about IanMcKellen any time soon! Sort of spooky how she died exactly a year after MIchael Gambon. (also sort of spooky that Snapes death was filmed on january 14th and Alan passed away in january 14th 2016.)

Just like the movies changed Dumbledore, McGonagall, Hermione, Harry, etc. I don't hate Snape and I respect his sacrifice, I just don't think that makes him a good person. To me, Snape will always be a character who had the potential to be a good person, but never fully developed it. However, if Harry can forgive him and be grateful to him, I can too.

I still think there is 2the outer layer" that he shows (and that is one nasty side - I agree) and then there is all the bottled up inside stuff, we only ever get to see in the Princes tale Also... I think people see film Snape and tend to forget tha book Snape is a very different character. For me yes, that's the Alan Rickman effect (holds for rDaco as well with Tom Felton). People who only watched the movies and start reading the books tend to forget Snape is 34/35 in this book. I always thought that Alan s portayal was great for a 50+ person. Book Snape is way younger. and just from wat I learned about myself - they way I reacted when I was 35 is a world away from my reaction now (that I am about to turn 48) If Alan (who read the books so he knew the width of Snapes nastiness I am sure) had played him like that it would have been hilarious and comedic given his age. Do I like film Snape? I loved Alan - so I am fine. Do I prefer book Snape? Hell yes! Said it before and I stay with my (I know unpopular oppinion) - Snape was THE ONLY Character who was never loved by anyone in the series. A lot of characters have difficult and hard backstories - but everyone else had someone who loved and cared for them - Snape did not. I don't see him as just sardistic - he is layered. Is he a nice character? Nope. Is he the most complex and interesting one for me? Yes. I do not think him a hero - just a tainted person who has a dificult personality. he is all gray - but I really do not like people just bashing him and then gushing for example about how great raco or Sirius are. Each and everycharacter in the series (maybe apart from Luna) has a dark side. Snapes is just more apparent. Yet he still worked for 18 year to bring down the Dark Lord (due tosome obsession I do not find cute)

You just never noticed it because you thought it was Harry's perspective and Harry was being unfair to Snape. But no, this is who Snape really is. By the way, in Kazakhstan we have Mars ice cream in stores🙂
