Sorry, had a minor tech issue at the start, but luckily it didn't affect the actual reaction. :)

BLOOMIN' BEN! I get it. He had to be there for Giles. But... I don't know... tell them, maybe? XD

Very interesting to hear the origins and limitations of Glory! Yet AGAIN with a crazy big cliffhanger!! Not sure I can coupe! XD

Hope you guys are having a great week!

Wow, I didn't put that together at all when watching the episode, but you're absolutely right!

I like the Knights but that's only because I'm an English history nut 🤣

It's not my favourite episode of the season, but I don't completely hate it. I think this episode has some good stuff in it, I've just always wished they had a few more scenes in other episodes building up the Knights of Byzantium, rather than just throwing an entire cavalary of renfaire at us this episode. I do like that it allows for an explanation of the Ben/Glory dynamic though. Overall it's an upper mid range episode for me.

As someone who is watching this series for the first time along with you, I really liked it! Something that stood out to me was how spike treats Tara. I feel like he might be associating the way she acts now with how Drusilla acted, since they both act very childlike and not all there. On a different note, I'm so excited for your animated Hobbit reaction!! It's so nostalgic for me.

I like it, even if it's hokey. The geography doesn't make sense, but the geography in Buffy never makes sense. I like that Spike is there to help again, despite the fact that they treat him like crud, and he's completely understanding of Tara. Also, the knights are just trying to prevent what would basically be the end of the world. They see the sacrifice of one (has it even been established if Dawn would actually "qualify" as a human) being to worth it to save all of humanity. To people who "know" Dawn, that's horrible (even we Dawn dislikers don't want her killed because we know the character), but to many people it makes sense. As an aside, I love that all of us adults see horses and call them horsies, like we're children. You did it, Tara did it, Willow and Buffy did it, and I think most people instinctively do.

I really enjoy this episode. It super stands out to me and I don’t know if it’s because I love it or it’s just because it is so different. Im glad to have moved, season 5 all bleeds together a bit for me since it’s such a cohesive season arc and less significant/stand out monster of the week episodes. So a new environment is welcome. I do find the knights guys kind of cheesy, like especially because they feel a bit redundant to the plot. We’ve only seen them briefly a couple of times, I feel they could have been better utilised in the story. Regardless, the events do seem kinda ridiculous now you point it out but the tension and stakes feel so high and real that I don’t really notice. All the character interactions feel so complex and poignant that I’m just appreciating every minute of that. Apart from Anya, I love her so much but some of her comments feel a bit off beat this episode (maybe last episode too, I can’t remember). Usually it’s the perfect mix of reason and ridiculousness, but this one felt a little more silly than usual, maybe just the placement? Idk. Maybe I’m just having an off day. Love the episode regardless!! Also, I love Spike and his goggles, he looks soooooo stupid.

Spike wasn’t useless, he stopped Buffy from getting stabbed in the head and killed. The actor you recognised is one of those character actors that’s in basically everything. I feel sorry for Ben, he got used by demon gods. When he was talking to the scabby demon it sounded like he wouldn’t have been alive at all if it wasn’t for Glory, that he was created like Dawn was. Which is probably something Glory had told to him so that he would feel like he owed Glory his life and not fight her as much, but the general said she was put into a newly born male child which means he would have had a normal life if that wasn’t done to him. I can understand if he wouldn’t want to die for Dawn, when she’s not real, however much she might seem like it, she’s only about a year old in that form, but he is real and his life was hijacked. That’s totally unfair. It’s unfair to Dawn as well but she’s not supposed to be a life form.

I personally find the whole knights thing kind of silly, weird, and out of place. It doesn't really affect my overall enjoyment of a tense and desperate episode, though. I chalk it up to the fact that the Buffyverse has many different cultists, and the knights are just another kind of cultist. They aren't entirely wrong, either. While we know Dawn to be an innocent in this situation, her death would end the immediate threat of Glory getting the key. To the knights, the destruction of an object or a living being makes no difference if one is the key, and I don't feel their reasoning is actually evil. During the RV attack scene, even if it had been night, Spike couldn't help fight. The knights are human. At least, I've seen no indication that any of them are anything other than human, and it's why Buffy originally spared the life of one when they first attacked her. So Spike wouldn't be able to hurt them. Though now it definitely seems that Buffy has killed a human, though in defense of life, so...there you go. I also didn't want them to "aim for the horsies!"

Wade Williams plays Brad Bellick in Prison Break and a prison guard in The Dark Knight Rises; but to me he looks like an ALDI knock-off of Mitch Peleggi from the X Files XD I shall withhold comment about my opinion of Willow until later on in the series, though I have always preferred her as a shy techno-wizz, because I saw a lot of myself in her- not so much as a super powerful witch. I enjoy this episode- I don't envy you having to wait a week to watch the rest, though! Your self-discipline in not binging is incredible.
