Another good Solid Side Quest! Nice to see more stuff from Gun's perspective!
Surprised to see Anne back! It does make me wonder... if they will be moving into the hotel at some point! XD
Poor Wes, he definitely didn't have th easiest ep!
So.. WHAT ABOUT THE EYEBALL THINGY?? XD I am guessing it will be addressed in the future, as well as potentially more Jackson! >:(
Hope you guys are having a great week!

2024-08-09 15:21:37 +0000 UTCI remember finding this episode quite a slog at the time it originally aired, and to be honest I still don't care much about the "cops as zombies" story, zombies just aren't my thing. I think this is the first time I've bothered to re-watch it since its original airing, tbh. That being said, I had totally forgotten that this was when Wesley got shot and how important this episode was to solidifying the bond between Wes / Gunn / Cordy apart from Angel. I found that aspect of the episode very affecting with hindsight.

2024-08-05 06:18:58 +0000 UTCThese zombies didn't clean up themselves, like the ones in Dead Man's Party. How would they explain all the dead cop bodies lying around?

2024-08-05 03:59:36 +0000 UTCI’m pretty sure that when the cops show up at the shelter at the end, they all know that Gun and that group are in there, so they are considering the entire building as compromised/knowing their secret. They couldn’t afford to let anyone survive.

2024-08-04 23:32:37 +0000 UTCambulance ride to the emergency room can cost 700 bucks even if its only a few miles away. Having sizures i've had to have a few ambulance rides and we've also said no lights/sirens just get here. My situations weren't life/death like a guns hot wound tho.

2024-08-04 10:19:23 +0000 UTCBtw, when those guys were talking to Gunn, saying, "Movin' on up," and about his "deluxe apartment in the sky," they were taking phrases from the intro song of the 1970s sitcom The Jeffersons about a black couple who ran a successful business chain that allowed them to move into a luxury apartment in a swanky neighborhood. It was novel for its time because it showed an African-American family who were hard-working, successful, and living in a high-class neighborhood instead of struggling in life like the other black sitcoms of that era (Good Times, Sanford & Son, etc.). I loved that show growing up, watching the reruns of it, and ended up buying the entire set on DVD when I became an adult. It was a spinoff from All in the Family, and even though I really didn't like that show, I loved The Jeffersons. I believe it still streams today on some platforms.

2024-08-04 08:55:44 +0000 UTCHave you watched the British comedy The Thin Blue Line with Rowan Atkinson? Hilarious! Regarding your intro and comments on The Host, he is one of my favorite recurring characters of the series, second only to Charles Gunn. Though at this point, Gunn is more main cast, so he's up there with Cordelia and Wesley as favorite main character. Anyway, while this isn't my favorite episode of the series, it has its moments, especially with the Wesley/Gunn dynamic, so I'm settling in with dinner to watch.

2024-08-03 19:08:24 +0000 UTCThere's also the episode "Dead Man's Party" where the dead are raised by a mask in Buffy's house and the episode "The Zeppo" where Xander gets mixed up in a gang of dead dudes.

2024-08-03 19:07:08 +0000 UTCI would say that Angel considers Wesley and Cordy as friends, family even, rather than just colleagues. However, like Angel said in the last episode, he convinced himself that they were better off not being around him while he is hell-bent on taking down W&H and so he distanced himself from them. Gunn on the other hand has only been a work associate imo.

2024-08-03 19:01:27 +0000 UTCThere was a very early Buffy episode where a zombie footballer resurrected by his brother wanted a Frankenstein girlfriend, but other than that there haven't been many zombies that I can recall.
