Very different tone in this one, but very good! Definitely was sus about the 'scary music' that played early on whenever Seth was on screen! XD
It was great that we had a couple of mentions about Doyle. I appreciate that, just like the characters, the show hasn't just 'moved on' from his part in the show.
WEASLEY BACKSTORY! And it definitely isn't a happy one. I do wonder how much more (if at all) we will hear about his upbringing, but it definitely adds an important angle to his character.
The ending was heartbreaking, and I really hope they are able to work something out with Ryan.

So Ryan was just born wrong. Possibly a type of brain damage from birth. Known as a "bad seed" like in the old 1956 movie about the little girl. They lack morality, conscience and are easily triggered into extreme jealously and resentment leading to dangerous behavior. And finally we get some important backstory on Wesley. I guess it's no surprise that he has daddy issues, since it was the standard on these two shows. And we still get a lot of the old Cordy, even though she's been growing and changing a lot.

2024-01-15 00:52:44 +0000 UTCThis is a great episode, and it's great to hear more about Wesley's past. Burglar bars are common in certain areas, typically lower income areas with higher crime. There were areas near where I grew up where all residential doors and windows had bars, and you knew you were in the really bad areas when second floor windows with nothing beneath them (so not easy to get to) had them on. All modern sets should be emergency safe because they are supposed to basically be one step open from the inside. I always loved Wesley, even on Buffy, so it's always great to learn more about him. Ryan would likely have been placed into a state children's psychiatric facility for either a court determined length of time or until deemed safe to be in the public. On your Twitter about sprouts, I totally thought you meant the sprouts that people put on sandwiches. Brussels sprouts are super yummy.
