####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######

------

HERE WE ARE!!  Part 1 of the season Finale, and it goes in a completely different way than I was expecting!  This show really knows how to do 2 parters well, and there is a LOT on the line going into the final episode!

Great to see Aniya.. 'kind of' being a good guy here!  I have no idea if she will even be in it again after today's episode, but I definitely grew to like her!

Why did they have to do it with Amy in the room...

The stuff between Faith and Wilkins is so very interesting.  It seems like there is genuine care for eachother in this one.  Not a way I expected the relationship to go!

I now can not WAIT to check out the last episode next week! So much on the line, and I honestly have no idea how it will be resolved!

Dare... I forgot to mention in the outro, but I spied a quick boom mic during the scene with Joyce! Weird seeing that in a show like this (in british sitcoms, they can be seen all the time! XD)

(Unless it isn't a boom mic, and it is a creature that is going to save the day next episode! 0_0 )

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

I'm so upset that I've caught up already lmao.. But hey, super excited to see what you make of the Angel series. I've missed a lot of opportunities to comment because I've just done a binge of all your buffy reactions, but I just wanna say please don't worry so much about "our" reaction to you picking up (and trying to make time for) Angel (or anything else down the line). Do what you enjoy! We're all just along for the ride. :o) P.S: you asked if any of us had written buffy related stories in one video and I wanted to share mine: Growing up I was so fascinated by the idea of a slayer agreeing to become a vampire under controlled circumstances- like with the promise that their soul would be restored immediately via some magical plot device. I think the idea really blossomed after the Ford episode, because I just know what he wanted could be done "safely" with the right friends and connections. Think of all the moral quandaries !! (And hey, you'd get a bonus third slayer out of it as well !) Anyhow, looking forward to more videos :)

It just said, "drink from a slayer" I don't think that really necessitates killing them, maybe a pint will be enough. The previous episode you said you might watch 2 episodes a week, you could watch 1 Buffy 1 Angel as they mostly ran in that order. There would be a couple of times were it would be a little out of sync, but I doubt anyone would really care all that much. Season 5 is the best season of Angel, I think you'll really like it.

I don't often support Percy's decisions, but... history is basically the one subject (in American high schools) that you can and should forget right after leaving high school. American textbooks are notoriously inaccurate and sanitized, and hence very boring. Most of us have to discover actual history on our own somehow.

I think your man Wesley is just stuck between a rock and a hard place. He came to town very recently. He's still very much the Council's product. He's only just put his own feet in the real world and is only just starting to see that the Council are part of the problem, at the end of the day. The fact that his reflex was to offer the Council's help to find a cure for Angel shows he's a good egg. There may be hope for him yet. I also believe that the Mayor/Faith relationship is meant to be the other side of the coin of the Giles/Buffy relationship. Perhaps the Mayor didn't have a fatherly affection for Faith when they first started working together. But, by this point, it's very much a toxic relationship with an evil dad and the girl *he* is raising. I believe that's why they gave him that line to Giles about Buffy being the little girl he raised. To draw our attention to that parallel. And good catch on Buffy wearing Faith's outfit when she went to confront her. You can tell from her expression, too. As soon as she stabbed Faith, she panicked. Buffy put on a different skin to do what she "had to" do to save Angel. She's not a murderer. But she was desperate. This is a great episode. 7.5/10 and my favourite line goes to Anya, actually. "No wonder I used to get so much work."

Frederique Gillespie

The creators have described the Mayor as a genuinely nice guy...who happens to be evil. None of his friendly demeanour is fake, that's just how he is, and is generally nice to people unless they get in the way of his plans...which honestly makes him the best father figure Faith could ask for, since he's evil enough to encourage her violent tendencies and not try to have a moral high ground over her, but nice enough to genuinely care for her as well.

I'd probably give this one a 5. It started off stronger than it finished. The Mayor was by far my favorite character, though. One saving grace for it is that Buffy finally throws away the council. I couldn't believe how long she stuck with them, even after what they tried to orchestrate on her birthday.

Oh wow, I need to go back and check that slip up! That is amazing he still ran with it! XD

You're not alone; I like both Wesley and Anya, too. 😊 A quick note of trivia: When Angel slipped coming in the door of Lester's apartment to join Buffy, that wasn't scripted. The actor himself accidentally slipped and ad-libbed the line. It's also not the only time that happens with David Boreanz! There is at least one other time that's going to happen in future, though I won't say when. So much for being a graceful Vampire!

RavenLord

Interesting you say about Anya being relatable. I believe, shown through her form of communication, lack of social cues etc. she actually plays a relatable representation of a person with ASD

🎶 Shoot that poison arrow, not through my he-a-a-art 🎶 I read a great theory on Reddit the other day you might be interested in - Principal Snyder knows weird things happen, yet he doesn't like Buffy right from the off whereas everyone else looks to her for help- what if, the mayor has been in Snyder's ear all along convincing him BUFFY is the evil one? That might explain why he tried so hard to keep her expelled...

Jake M

I have a soft spot for Wesley too. I don’t think it’s as easy for him to see the Council as bad though. I think he has doubts about their decisions and methods, but ultimately sees them as a necessary good. Anya trying to integrate and fit in is hilarious lol

Sam-I-Am

I believe you said something along the lines of "Of course, Angel's been invited in, hasn't he?" and the comments were answering your rhetorical question... You definitely didn't come across as oblivious, don't worry 😆 I do love how you keep mentioning skateboarding even though we haven't seen Xander with one since the pilot 😂
