####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######

------

This one was awesome!! Very 'monster of the week, but definitely not Solid Side-Quest!  Xander is such a more interesting character than I expected him to be when I first started this series, and this is a very important one for him!

Great villain!  Definitely didn't see the twist coming!  I got confused thinking she actually WAS Largos, but by the end I am sure I was mistaken.

Great to get a Faith episode, as I say at the start, she hadn't really been that involved since she joined the squad!  Definitely appreciate her in this one!

And some VERY good quotable lines this time!  Which was the best?

Love you, guys! Hope you have a great weekend!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

I like Faith's line of "I can't believe how much I'm going to kill you." :D

Grace

I LOVE seeing Buffy and Faith fight. It's so epic! :D THANK YOU.

Grace

Well now, if you're going to get all grown up and empathetic...

Frederique Gillespie

I've always found the "You're an idiot" line far more sad than funny. It's an authority figure who has gained someone's trust fully pulling the rug out from under them. And given Faith's constant isolation and lack of stable guidance, that's going to knock her WAY back in her ability to trust people again. It's cleverly written, but it's ultimately very tragic.

Not her library shaming! Uncalled for! LOL I never thought about Gwendlyn being Llagos, but that could've been cool. At the end it sounded more like she was really a rogue watcher though. Apparently Giles missed the memo. Still, the watcher's council communication system leaves something to be desired.

Catalina Saturnus

Agreed. I 💯think he saw them and pretended he didn’t because he didn’t want a bar of it 🤣

Flora Smith

Agreed, though I’d argue jealousy is still a factor in S2, it’s not now and hasn’t been for quite a while.

Flora Smith

Oh and I’m pretty sure Giles did see willow and Xander fluking, he just pretended not to, so as not to make it awkward. He seemed like he was disappointed in them though.

Garry (Not Jerry)

Not sure if you caught on to this, but I liked the bit when willow got upset because people weren’t using the “I” statements during Buffy’s intervention. I noticed your top hat. But I just thought it was a bold fashion choice and I was all for it!

So the Buffy movie can be considered ambiguously canon. The big things, Buffy being called, her watcher dying, etc, can be considered canon. And yes 90% of Watchers are English because the council is in the UK.

Not a favorite of mine, maybe 3/10. Every single character is so annoying this episode that I just can't with it. Xander has his points but then falls back on his, understandable, Angel hatred. Season 3 is one of my least favorite seasons, which explains all my low ratings. It was also so predictable, at least for me. As soon as Post walked in, I was all she's a watcher and evil.

Hanneli Norrgard

Serena Scott Thomas, Gwendolyn Post, Mrs., is English, and the sister of Kristin Scott Thomas, who starred in the Oscar winning film, "The English Patient". Lagos was the demon with the axe.

Thom Purdy

Let's not forget Xander's first experience with vampires was his best friend dying. I think it colors a lot of his feelings about vampires. He's not jealous, he didn't mind Buffy dating Scott, a human. He just can't trust vampires. And it's understandable. I think he is jealous early season 1, but he gets over that. At the end of season 1 he tells Angel "I don't like you", but with time, in the beginning of season 2 you can see he's making an effort to be nicer, he calls Angel his friend a couple times, and even says he likes him once. And just when he's starting to get comfortable around him, out pops Angelus. That probably just confirmed to him that he never should have let his guard down and was right to mistrust him at first.
