Movie Watcher Reads Harry Potter For the First Time! - Prisoner of Azkaban Chapters 11, 12 & 13!

YEP!... We broke the 5 hour mark! XD  These chapters were excellent though, so we had a lot to discuss!  Just a couple of notes - I get a little silly in the 3rd chapter here regarding the Firebolt giving Gryffindor an advantage, sorry if I go a little over the top! XD

Brilliant discussion regarding Hermione in this one, with may different views and opinions!  We go on a couple of tangents here or there, but I hope they aren't too annoying!

Oh!  And we discuss at the start the possibility trying out a 2 chapter episode in the future.  Please let me know your thoughts on this (it will mean more regular, but shorter videos).  I am happy to do it whatever way works best for you guys!

Have a wonderful weekend, guys! Love you!

With regards muggle studies I’m pretty sure Hermione is learning about Health and Safety. I always imagined her reading about lifting with the knees etc and saw it as a little funny tidbit added by JKR. Also asking ‘Why do muggles need electricity’ I never saw it as derogatory… don’t forget the wizard students don’t even know what electricity is or what it does at all. So I suppose an answer might be what they can use it for ie communication, cooking… things that the wizarding students take for granted with spells etc…

I love these long videos because I can either binge the whole thing or split them up! I’d say as the books go on though you might need to do 2 chapter reviews.. potentially even single chamber reviews for some of them but it’d be hard to figure that out until you’ve read them

Trelawney for years predicts death of everyone around her, I'm not surprised McGonnagall is annoyed ;)

I think the first one who leaves the table where thirteen are seated dies is an old superstition. I first encountered it in an Agatha Christie book aptly titled "Thirteen at Dinner" aka "Lord Edgware Dies" but I'm pretty sure it's much older than that even.

Have a nice day! A lot of great discussion here, Veggie! So many interesting things about Hermione! Many ways of seeing it, many great explanations for why she acted like she did (completely understandable, imo, so I agree with you). I think the skill element of flying the brooms make sure that it's not just about having a fast broom, so I think it's not as black&white as you describe it in this video, but it's still quite unfair, of course! Regarding the quidditch "final", it's probably just a handy term because JKR isn't that interested in sports, and therefore not that good at describing table situations etc. It's just meant as a way of describing the match that will decide the outcome of the season, I'd say. Oh, and I was one of them who mentioned the fact that two chapters at a time could mean a book club of the same length for each video anyway, and I have to say that you make a great point at the end there, so I completely get why you'll try to do that! Really looking forward to the next video, as always.

Lupin is shaken because Harry produced a full Patronus and you know which form it takes. It's pretty much like seeing his best friends ghost

You are confusing Lee Jordan and Dean Thomas. Dean is in Harrys Year, lee is in the twins. We actually meet him the very first time in the first book on the trainplatform, where he has brought some kind of Tarantula and the Twins go to see

Two chapters would be far more easily for you to fly through, as we progress through the books, the plots and chapters get bigger and far more complicated. Thank you for another wonderful video!

I'm going to defend McGonnagal here a bit, becuause it is not a professional setting. At the first Christmas Dinner we hear about her getting Tipsy and Hagrid giving her a kiss on the cheek, I would say that this dinner does fall outside of proffesional. You can't excpect the teacher to never let loose. if anything, it is kind of Dumbledores fault for putting students and teachers on the same table, then again, with so few people it would not have mattered
