Awesome one, guys!  Wasn't expecting a multi-parter here!  Love the idea of the Judge, and am pretty sure I recognise the actor (again XD).  Very romantic episode with a very different pace!

I love how Buffy episodes can suddenly be so much more serious after a chain of Solid Side-Quests, and this one definitely brought the dread of the main story right back!

The Jenny stuff blew my mind, too! XD

Love you, guys!  Have a great weekend!

As always, if you click the link straight away, you may need to download the video to watch.  This should be fixed in an hour or so!

Still gutted they didn't actually have any of the cake...

Buffy Fridays! Season 2 Episode 13 First Time Reaction!

A couple other things. Yes, you were right, the one vampire's name is Dalton. And I'm fairly sure the party was at the Bronze, which has always come across to me as a favorite hangout of Buffy's. I recognize certain things, including the drum set the bands always use. I think it was just taking place earlier, before the clubgoers started showing up.

As I'm fond of saying when this episode rolls around, this is the part where this show goes from being something great to something truly wonderful. Great reaction, and I am beyond excited for the next reaction.

I love Buffy’s dreams I always find them so interesting!! Maybe 8.5/10 for this one. The only bits I feel drag a little are the dramatic Buffy & Angel scenes, upon rewatch they aren’t interesting to me. But I think the relationship gives them both more complexity (Not that Buffy needs it) so it’s fine. The episode title is definitely apt!!! So many surprises. The birthday, the party, spontaneous dusting in front of civilians, the dreams, Druscilla’s return, Druscilla’s birthday gifts, Jenny’s true identity reveal, Angel’s mysterious pain in the end scene? Love it. Xander was also extra funny and annoying in this episode!! I also agree about the party. Where are we? An cold empty warehouse with some cake?? Buffy deserves better!!!

Yes, the Judge is indeed played by the same actor from the first episode who played Luke (that was the name)! They occasionally recycle actors, and you might notice others in the future. Thing is the hand, Cousin Itt is the hairy Addams family cousin, correct! :) I think you would truly enjoy the original 1960s The Addams Family series, which is only two seasons long (sadly) and is still available for streaming on a few platforms. I have never, ever seen anyone do a reaction to the original series, only the 1990s movies and the modern Wednesday. The Addams Family series was a revelation in its era for portraying a married couple still madly, passionately, romantically in love with each other, and the family's acceptance of people from different walks in life. If you ever do The Addams Family, it either would have to be shown unblurred and *without* the watermark behind it, or it would have to be blurred for syncing. Because it's black and white, we wouldn't be able to see anything onscreen with the watermark behind it. Buffy night scenes are difficult; black and white would be impossible. As The Addams Family is streaming on a few platforms, it might not be a problem for people to find it for syncing, though it would be easier to just have it unblurred and without a watermark, if that's possible. I would love to see modern day reactions to the old series!

The word "Gypsy" always makes me cringe. Jenny's uncle most likely not have called themselves Gypsies, but rather more likely Romani. Gypsy is a racial slur to most Romani. I have Irish Romani ancestors myself! My great-grandmother often mentioned it, and it was confirmed through an ancestry search. :) Yep, as others have said, not much can be said in-depth about this episode without spoiling the next, but it's a very good episode, and so is the next one! It's difficult to pick favorite characters at this point; almost all of them are great. Oz and Cordelia are dear to my heart; I'm *so* glad you adore Cordy as well. Giles and Willow are beloved mainstays from the very beginning. Spike and Drusilla are fantastic villains. Buffy is a complex and likeable heroine. Joyce and Jenny are amazing women. I guess on repeated viewings (this is my 7th watching, I believe), Xander is more grating and Angel less endearing than they were when I first watched the series back in the '90s, but I don't dislike them. There is only one character in this whole series that I truly despise, and repeated viewings have only enforced it, but I will not say who because they have not yet appeared. I'll wait to see your reaction to them when they debut next season. It's not the person playing the role I can't stand, but the personality of the character I feel was poorly written. That's all I will say until next season! I loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, though it's not a movie I would watch a second time. Fantastic, well-done, well acted film, but quite disturbing and not for everyone.

The first half of a two-parter is never usually my favourite, but I really like this episode for 2 reasons: 1. Oz's reaction to finding out that vampires are real. 2. The dream sequences are so creepy its awesome. Would love to hear your guesses about what is happening to Angel at the end!

Garry (Not Jerry)

I crushed so hard on Oz when I watched this show growing up lol... and Drusilla is still my absolute favourite. Weird how I'm drawn to such polar opposites haha. Maybe after they finished filming they all ate the cake :)

Oz is perfect. That's just something you'll find yourself thinking. LOL Whether you think it makes him less enjoyable remains to be seen. I remember when I disliked Cordelia so much. That was pretty much over by the time this episode rolled around, So, yes. It's pretty much impossible to comment seriously on this episode without spoiling the next part. So I'll leave at that. As a set-up for what's to come (and for Oz's "did everyone see that guy just turn to dust" comment, I will give this episode 8.75/10.

Squee!!! My excitement is high for this one.
