I Really Really Hate Umbridge

Because of a lot going on in RL I have only just been able to record today but am putting together the Patreon version before beginning the YT edit! I think it's because she takes malicious pleasure in harming Harry and others while Voldemort seems to do it just to gain power. The actress does a phenomenal job portraying her. Can't wait to see your reaction.

2022-02-17 03:50:10 +0000 UTCThis movie (in my opinion, to be taken with the grain of salt that it's being offered with 😂) is a little different than the other Harry Potter movies, but I absolutely love the political feel of it. The undertones (and in place complete overtones) of history and how it can easily repeat, even in the magical world, was really well done. And, of course, Hufflepuff rules and Umbridge is awful 💛🖤

Three years before this, she was Oscar nominated for a film called "Vera Drake" where she played just the nicest, sweetest woman ever who only wants to put out kindness in her community. To think she can go from playing that to Umbridge is amazing. She did mention playing this role and the things she did to Harry and the others made her feel sick to her stomach.

2022-02-16 21:20:50 +0000 UTCOne reason Umbridge is often seen as a worse villain than Voldemort (at least to me) is that Voldemort is a larger-than-life evil villain, a supervillain as it were. But Umbridge? She's reality. She is the person who has been your horrible teacher, your vile boss, your maddening next-door neighbor, the person on local committees who makes everyone's life miserable. She is evil in the way of your everyday sociopath living among us. She's just too dang real!
