Y'all just don't understand, your unit is your brotherhood, it is your family...remember that they told Lena "they choose to fight." Because they were forced to go to the battlefield, they recognize Magnolia as their oppressors, but they recognize their freedom in them choosing to fight for each other. Because all they have known is living with, fighting for, dying for each other...and now the war is still ongoing but they are not allowed to fight, to them that is each of them walking on the graves of their comrades. They don't have survivor's guilt, they don't want to live on doing nothing when that isn't what they fought for or other 86 are still fighting for. Shinnei and his group cannot properly rest until this war is over, they don't care about fighting forever, only until the fight with the legion is done.
