Fallen Angels / The Grigori [Monster Thursday]

Today's monsters are a bit weirder than what is typical (even from me) and are focused around fallen angels who have not yet turned into fiends. Taking the name of Grigori, from the apocryphal Book of Enoch, they were tasked with watching mortals before they were slowly corrupted and became fallen angels. To go along with fallen angels, I also combined in the Seven Deadly Sins, giving them unique abilities based on what foul trait they invoke and what led to their downfall - there are more 'sins' than just the seven, but what those are at least the main categories.

Each of these creatures are vulnerable to a specific ideal - when a character wields a weapon that invokes that ideal (like Wrath is vulnerable to Kindness), they can deal more damage than someone whose ideal isn't Kindness.   

Envy (Zilvidia, CR 1) These creatures are overcome with jealousy for things they don't possess but want to. They can cause others to devolve into fits of rage, attacking their allies.

Gluttony (Gulmargia, CR 13) Focused on consumption, not every angel is only interested in eating or drinking, but rather can be focused on anything that it can consume like theater plays. These creatures can cause others to give into gluttony, forcing them to take on grotesque forms until they feed their hunger.

Greed (Avaristia, CR 8) This angel causes phantasmal treasures to appear, causing those who would wish to destroy to be distracted by wealth and material ownership. They can often be found in richly appointed rooms or in places of great power and wealth.

Lust (Lagxuria, CR 3) This is a difficult one to create, as desiring someone isn't inherently wrong (but I wanted to do the full suite of deadly sins, so here we are). This one is focused on those who are consumed with their desire for an object of their affection, going to great lengths to get what they want. This might end in hostility when they don't get what they want.

Pride (Peribia, CR 11) Pride in a job well done is all good, except when it worms into your heart and you begin to think that others are just lesser beings compared to you. These angels are blinded by their own arrogance, rejoicing in their abilities and power, gloating with their power over mortals.

Sloth (Nothrodia, CR 5) Lackadaisical, these angels have little motivation to do much of anything. They want others to slow down and to stop being so productive as there is no greater pleasure than just doing nothing.

Wrath (Irgia, CR 17) The final sin is that devoted to anger and fury, they are frustrated by everything and everyone, using that as fuel to drive them forward. They have no interest in talking things out and are quick to go off the handle, smashing and destroying as they please.
