Firbolg Treatise [Monster Thursday]

Firbolg have gone through quite a big change in 5th edition. While new arrivals to the system might think of firbolg has dumpy druid folk who probably hum Disney princess songs while they go on walks through a forest, that's not exactly what they once were. In fact, they were never even blue skinned... or a medium size creature... or sung princess songs about forests and nature. Instead, these individuals are straight from Irish folklore and are said to be the fourth returning group to Ireland. They are viking adjacent, and in the past of D&D they were powerful giant-kin who protected forests and went on great hunts!

Firbolg (CR 10) The basic firbolg warrior - they are definitely not a pushover and have some innate magic that helps tie them back to their fey roots.

Firbolg Beastblood (CR 14) Big hulking brutes... that also transform into bears that like to maul and rip you apart. They prefer to cast enlarge on themself and, in bear form, start ripping and tearing people apart with their massive claws.

Firbolg Scout (CR 12) Found on the outskirts of a battle and slinking through underbrush, the scout largely makes ranged attacks, relying on their bulkier kin to take the brunt of damage.

Firbolg Seer (CR 16) Known by many names like shamans, priests, clerics, or witches; these firbolg have a powerful connection to their triple goddess, Hecate. Their connection her to allows them to call upon the powers of the forest.

Firbolg Hunt Master (CR 18/19) Leaders of the Wild Hunt, these firbolg are the center of attention when it comes to the nocturnal hunts of the firbolg.
