I (Stephen) am going to be running a one-shot on October 25th but first I need a few players - which is where you come in. This will be a first-come, first-serve though our $10 patrons get first dibs. After that, I'll be opening it up to our $5 patrons (14th), a few days later to our $1 patrons (17th), and then it will be open to anyone on our Discord (20th). I have room for 6 players in the one-shot. If you are in one of the lower tiers, feel free to message me beforehand and I'll add you to the waiting list.
Time: Sunday, October 25th, 2020 [20201025]
12pm EDT to about 4pm EDT [4pm UTC to about 8pm UTC]
The adventure: We will be playing inside of the Planescape setting and in the Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo. Our one-shot will be from The Great Modron March - 2nd edition adventure, so expect Modrons and marching!
A sudden Modron March has started almost 100 years before it was supposed to and the inhabitants of the planes are worried about the end of the multiverse as they know it! For the inhabitants of Limbo, they have decided that for this march should be monitored as much as possible, even if it is against their nature to act with such order.
See, if the Modrons stay in Limbo, they start pushing their laws and ideas on the plane, which negatively affects the plane and they can't have that. To this end, they are hiring guides for the Modrons so that the chaos doesn't get them lost. The guides will be responsible for taking the Modrons from Yggdrasil, then through Limbo, and into the gate-town of Xaos on the Outlands.
If you took part in the previous Modron one-shot, this is a chance to learn more about the Modrons, for those that missed it, that's perfectly fine! This is a self-contained one-shot and all valuable information you may need will be provided by me, your benevolent DM.
For character generation:
- Characters are made using the Dungeons & Dragons 5e ruleset
- Standard Stat Array or Point Buy
- Level the character up to 6th level
- Characters are restricted to Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes.
- Magic items can be selected from the Dungeon Master's Guide or Xanathar's Guide to Everything. You can select up to 3 common items and 2 uncommon items.
- Multiclassing and Feats are allowed
- We will be interacting with humanoids and aberrations
- No evil characters. Your characters should want to be part of the story and be interested in what happens next.
Before the game:
- Send me your character sheet
- Set up an account on Roll20
- Select a character token/portrait and send it to me so I can set it up on Roll20
Helpful tips:
- Due to time constraints, I'll be pacing combat quickly, please read through your character abilities and have a rough understanding of how it all works.
- If you are using DnDBeyond, I recommend the Beyond20 extension for Chrome and Firefox as it can allow for very fast rolling on the virtual tabletop.
- Ensure you have a working microphone (phone or computer mic is fine) and working speakers/headphones.
Background: For the background of your character, you can be from a wide variety of different worlds who somehow stumbled upon Sigil, or maybe ya ain't a clueless and ya been touting the cant since ya were wee. Regardless of how you arrived in Sigil or the Outlands, your character should have a thirst for adventure and maybe even have a few stories about daring heroics. Your character wants to help and has attracted the attention of a powerful individual in the Planes.
